ISO Standards
ISO Standards on Vibration, Shock and Condition
Monitoring are managed by:
ISO Technical Committee 108 Mechanical Vibration, Shock and
Condition Monitoring
(ISO/TC 108)

ISO/TC 108 was set up in 1963

ISO Vibration Standards

Today ISO/TC 108 maintains a catalogue of over
160 documents which provide information and
guidance to practitioners around the world
These include International Standards (ISO), Technical
Specifications (ISO/TS), Technical Reports (ISO/TR) and other
ISO publications

Extract from ISO/TC 108s Business Plan

Mechanical vibration, shock and condition
monitoring affects virtually every aspect of
human endeavour
This includes human health and safety,
machines, vehicles (air, sea, and land) and
stationary structures

ISO International Participation

Worldwide, 162 countries support ISO
standards
Each country has a primary point of contact
through its own National Standards Body
Countries can be full participating members,
corresponding members or observers

ISO International Participation

For example the British Standards Institution (BSI)
is the recognized UK National Standards Body
The BSI counterpart to ISO/TC 108 is:
