Informational Tasks

1- Look more closely at the instructions that the teacher gives while introducing the
learning centers:

If possible, video/pictures or audio record the teacher while she gives

instructions.

I cannot take a video, picture, or audio recording of my MST.

Write the sentences of the instructions that the teacher gives.

She introduces learning centers and then she gives instructions. Some instructional
sentences that she usually says are: remember, we share materials, we let our friends work,
and we put things back to their places.

Write your own instructions for one of your own lesson plans.

Always share materials. Always allow your friends to work as they want. Always put
things back to their places, and remember that we do not interrupt others when they are
working. When it is the time of tidying up, let us tidy up quickly to talk for a little bit.

2- Describe the purpose of diagnostic assessment.

A) Identify the diagnostic tests the teacher uses in your TP placement. These might
be check lists, written observations. Photograph blank diagnostics, scan, print and
or upload to your e-portfolio.
They are found in my e-portfolio.
B) Look over the diagnostics again and identify which diagnostics are norm
referenced, criterion referenced, comparison of students ability, comparison of
student progress.
I only could get two diagnostics of comparison of students ability and comparison of student
progress, and they are uploaded to my e-portfolio.

3- Classroom Management
1. Describe two times when your classroom management was successful. Describe the
situation, learning objective and what the students were doing. Why was your
management successful?
I taught a literal lesson of letter B. I could manage the classroom including students and
their behavior because of being strict from the beginning of the class until its ending. Praising
and punishing were two other used strategies by me, and they helped in managing students
and their behavior as well as the whole classroom. The learning objectives of the lesson were
that students would identify the letter B in its both lower and upper cases and identify the
sound of the letter B. Students explored, discovered, asked questions, helped each other, and
shared and discussed answers. Another lesson that I taught was a mathematical lesson about
different shapes. My classroom management was successful due to being able to make
students understand that when it was the studying time, we only needed to study. I was strict
and used different strategies of reinforcing, punishing, praising, and rewarding which
contribute to managing the whole classroom including learners and their behavior. The
leaning objectives of the lesson were that students would realize that shapes are found in
everywhere including our bodies, realize and recognize that there are many shapes, and
identify names of various shapes. Learners explored, discovered, asked questions, helped
each other, and shared and discussed answers.
2. Describe something you would like to improve about your classroom management
(using routines, giving instructions, dealing with disruptive behavior, managing
groups,) Give suggestions (or talk to your MST or MCT) to improve your classroom
management.
Well, I see that my classroom management is totally successful because of the used strategies of
being strict, reinforcing, punishing, praising, and rewarding. My MST insured that I could manage the
classroom and told me about it so many times. No suggestion or advice were given to me by my MST
about my classroom management.
