The installation of all iBaan ERP client software is described in Users Guide for
the iBaan ERP Common Installer (U7505B US)
This document contains additional information to the installation of the iBaan
ERP Windows client.
NOTE
In previous iBaan ERP versions, it was possible to download the setup program
for the BW from the Baan Application Server by FTP. In the current iBaan ERP
version, this is no longer supported. The iBaan ERP Windows client can only be
installed from CD-ROM.
Chapter 1, To install iBaan ERP Windows for Windows installer, describes the
BW installation through the iBaan Common Installer.
Chapter 2, Installation directory of iBaan ERP Windows (BW), lists the
subdirectories created in the installation directory.
Chapter 3, To uninstall the iBaan ERP Windows client, briefly describes how
to uninstall iBaan ERP Windows.
After selecting the client products in BCI, the individual installers of the
products are called. For BW, the Microsoft Windows Installer (MSI) is
started.
NOTE
Click Restart System. After your system restarts, log on again if you are
prompted to do so. The iBaan ERP Client Setup will automatically start.
The MSI dialog box appears, which is followed by a Welcome message.
After the Next button is enabled, click Next. A License Agreement message
screen appears. In the license agreement, click I accept the terms, and click
Next; the Customer Information screen appears.
Typically, iBaan ERP menu items will appear on the menus of all users on
this computer. If you want these menu items to appear only on the menus of
the current user, click Only for me. This option is not displayed for all
operating systems. If this option is not displayed, iBaan ERP menu items will
be accessible to all users.
Click Normal, click Next, and skip proceed with Step 9. For advanced
options, click the Custom setup type, and click Next to continue; the Custom
Setup screen appears.
If you want to defer the installation of the iBaan ERP Client software, click
the tiny down arrow next to the hard drive icon (
).
In the drop-down menu that appears, select This feature will be installed
when required, click Next, and skip the remainder of this step. Note that this
deferred installation option, called Install-on-Demand, is not supported on
operating systems that do not have the Microsoft Active Desktop feature
installed and functioning. The Install-on-Demand feature is always available
on Windows 2000.
If you select the deferred installation option, any specifications you make to
the Baan Environment or the installation location will be ignored.
If desired, change the name of the Baan Environment.
8
Accept the default path or click Change to enter another path. Click Next
to continue.
NOTE
NOTE
In the Ready to Install the Program dialog box, click Finish to continue
with the displayed setup (or click Back to change the displayed setup).
10 After the software is installed, you must click Finish to exit the installation
script. If you are prompted to restart your computer, you must do so before
continuing.
