On Monday, October 24, 2016, I taught 24 little students that were at the foundational stage
of KG2 (five years old) a literal lesson of the letter B. The little students were of Sama American
Private School. I had a lesson plan that I made and checked deeply before giving the actual
lesson. My monitor school teacher, Ms. Olga Hattab, knew about all the actions that I would do
when giving the lesson before the day of Monday which means that she knew about my plans on
Sunday, October 23, 2016. I contacted with her deeply in the school and on the phone (via
WhatsApp) to make sure that my plans were appropriate to be given to little students that were at
the age of five years old. Ms. Olga Hattab observed me while I was teaching the lesson. She
observed me from the beginning of the class until it ended. In addition, Ms. Olga Hattab did help
me in keeping control over different things such as the flow of few parts of the lesson where she
gave me little advice in two parts of the entire lesson as well as helping me in keeping few things
organized such as tables and materials. She also took pictures of me and the students during the
entire class. All the pictures were taken for me. All of my MSTs contributions made me feel
glad and relaxed.
I can assure that the lesson of the letter B was delivered remarkably and successfully to the 24
pupils where I saw them participating, responding to me (the teacher) when I was asking
questions, asking questions, and completing all the duties of me and activities that I gave to them
to complete. The plan that I designed by myself allowed my lesson to be delivered successfully
due to its strong hold of all the parts of the lesson where it made all the lessons parts worth (it
made the lessons parts worthy things to keep eyes on and include and powerful tools to be
used). I had a story to engage the students. I had the students observing, exploring, and
explaining their questions and found answers. I also had differentiated activities that allowed the
students to learn and extend their prior and gained knowledge more. My lesson plan depended
mainly on the 5E instructional model that is considered to be always included in lessons parts
due to its contributions in producing complete and interesting lessons (5Es Overview: The 5E
instructional model, n.d.). The five stages of the 5E instructional model are: engage, explore,
explain, elaborate or extend, and evaluate. As it was mentioned, to engage students, a story was
used. The storys name is The Berenstains B Book, and it is written by Stan and Jan Berenstain.
Students explored the story where they sought for a similar feature in all the storys words or
vocabulary. They knew that the letter B was found in the beginnings of the storys words
wonderfully. Students explained their answers and understanding when they justified their
generated answers of the similarity of the storys words and found and showed letter B to each
other including the teacher where they had to work with each other to find the letter B among the
rest English letters (all the letters were used). Students knowledge of the letter B was extended
by a video that gave much information of the letter B such as words that have begun with the
letter B. To evaluate students understanding, activities were given to them to complete which
showed how they understood the whole lesson. The activities did not only show that if students
understood the lesson, but they also allowed students to practice and use their gained knowledge.
My monitor school teacher (MST), Ms. Olga Hattab, and all the 24 students were engaged
strongly within the lesson. The objectives of the lesson were all achieved successfully where the

pupils could know or identify the letter B, the letters upper and lower cases, the sound of the
letter B, and words that have begun with the letter B. My teaching way and ideas were loved by
Ms. Olga Hattab and all the students where both the MST and students praised me in a very
superb way. My monitor school teacher told me that everything was awesome and that I had a
nice teaching style and adorable ideas (it was the first time to teach in front of her), whereas the
pupils told me that they loved me when I was teaching them and that they enjoyed the activities a
lot. Some of the pupils were shy actually to say something to me about the lesson, but when I
asked them, they all said that they enjoyed the lesson and activities. They showed me how they
loved the whole lesson with its smallest parts. Their shiny eyes, attitudes, and words allowed me
to know how they loved the whole lesson. I was totally happy to hear all the nice words that
came out of the hearts and mouths of all the students and the MST. My MST gave me excellent
in all the areas of planning for learning, managing learning, implementing learning, and
assessment. If I teach the lesson again, I will use the same lesson plan and materials because they
allowed me to give an exciting and lovely lesson, and I will not change any part of it due to not
facing any issues while giving the lesson to students. Nothing made me disappointed and feel
lost which means that I was glad and satisfied about my lesson and class.
I have reflected about my teaching way and lesson in the above paragraph. The overall feeling
that I had about my teaching and lesson was totally satisfying.
