Hedge funds employ Morgan Stanley as Prime Broker for getting leverage on their investment
by opening a margin account with Morgan Stanley. An executing broker executes the trades
on behalf of hedge fund and prime broker takes care of their back office work like settlement,
reporting , analytics and portfolio accounting. STP process automates the file entry,
enrichment, processing and booking of trade in the various firm systems. Client and Broker
each send the trade details either through UI interfaces(File Import or Transaction Manager or
Marvin). The client and broker sides that have come up in the system are matched on trade
details and checked for respective limits that have been setup for those clients. Finally the
trade is booked in the firm systems through STP process and reconciled with the trade details
that we stored initially. We also send trade details to portfolio accounting and other teams like
risk, margin which extract data from the firm systems downstream.
I was involved in the development of various components of the CDS STP like Trade Capture
Flow,Matching Engine, Limits,Recon, Trade booking UI Marvin and Marvin Server
implementation.
Responsibilities:

• Development of backend components like Recon, Trade Capture
Flow using Core Java, SOAP /XML, Queues, JDBC, Sybase Stored

Repo is a contract between two parties where one party lends out money to the other party
taking securities or bonds as collateral. I was involved in designing and implementation of the
whole backend flow which included database design and implementation of business logic.

between mainframe and Core java components for booking trades in firm’s mainframe

Tavant is serving its client AMC(Ameriquest Mortgage Corporation) through Homer.
AMC has been in to Mortgage domain and uses the Mainframe tool MSP(Mortgage
Servicing package) provided by Fidelity. The project Homer is dedicated in converting
the functionalities provided by MSP to J2EE architecture
Project Description: The project involves coding on Web and Back end layer using
technologies Java, Struts framework, Jsp, servlet, JDBC,SQL.

Homer is the next generation Loan Servicing application developed for Client Ameriquest
(www.ameriquestmortgage.com).

Description:
The project involves developing templates in Adobe Output Designer and writing XSL codes.
The XSL extracts value from XML(which is made from client schema),makes validations on
input xml data, governs some presentation features of required document and puts input xml
data in the corresponding data fields of template. Then input xml, xsl, document
packages(which calls the template) and document templates are fed in Enterprise Document
Engine which generates the required document.

Responsibilities
• Development of templates in Adobe Output Designer.
• Development of XSLT for extracting values from XMLs.

B.Tech Project

SMART WATER SPRINKLER

Distinction- We got patent for the product

Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur under the guidance of Prof. V.K.Jain.

Description:
We made mechanical water sprinkler which sprinkled water while moving in the spiral motion
on wheels. The sprinkler had an inlet hole for water from a water hose and had two pangs on
top which could rotate freely on its axis and thus sprinkle water . The pressure of the water
moved the perspex gears in the gear box as well as the two pangs on top which rotated due to
momentum impulse by the outgoing water. The rotating pangs had holes at the end from
which water ejected in a circular fashion. The front wheel was synchronized with the gears
such that as the gears moved the front wheel forward as well as it rotated about the vertical
axis as well so that the combination gives rise to a spiral motion.
