AGRIEXPORTS JANUARY AUGUST 2015/2014 THOUSAND USD FOB


From the beginning of the year until August, the
Agriexports sector registered a total of USD 2,893 million.
This amount represented a decrease of 3% in value and
5% in exported volume in comparison with the same
period in 2014.
The traditional decreased 26% in its exported value which
totaled USD 291 million. This decrement was given by less
shipments of coffee and Sugar that had a decrease of 29%
and 49% in total exports respectively; less than the FOB
value exported in 2014. Furthermore, other agricultural
products exports value reached about USD 38 million,
increasing in 21% over the value traded in the same period
in 2014

The Non-traditional exports sector increased to USD


2,601 million. This is a result of higher exports of fruits
which were exported a value of USD 1,128 million with an
increase of 9%.
Also, Other food industry products had a rise of 4% in
exports value with a total of USD 416 million in its export
value. Vegetables exports reached USD 610 million,
increasing in 1%, but decreasing 5% in total volume
exported until August. On the other hand, cereals and live
animals and products had a negative variation of 21%
and 18% respectively in exported value. The same
occurred with Natural Colorants, with a high decrease of
31% in FOB.

TOTAL AGRIEXPORTS AUGUST 2015/2014 THOUSAND USD FOB


In August, the agricultural exports reported a total of USD
392 millions with a negative variation of 14% In exported
value. In Traditional agriculture, the main decreased was
caused by less shipments of coffee, with a reduce of 37%
in FOB value

Moreover, other food industry products sector had


increased 4% in value and 2% in volume. However, other
vegetable products market obtained USD 18 million,
increasing 4% in the exported value, with a decrease of
10% in exported tons.

The Non-traditional exports sector had a decrease of 6%


with a value of USD 313 million exported. Where fruits
market were the principal sector, increasing 5% in value
with 26% of the share. This was given by higher shipment
of avocado and mango. Also, the vegetables sector had a
positive variation with a value of USD 93 million due to
more exports of capsicum.

Cereals sector had a reduce of 54% in exports value,


where pigeon peas had a 179% rise. Also live animals and
products decreased in 44% due to high shipments to
Chile. Moreover, natural had a positive variation of 247%
in volume and 210% in value.

RANKING PRODUCTS (JANUARY AUGUST 2015/2014) THOUSAND USD FOB


Coffee were the product that led the agricultural exports
with a total of US$ 386 million and a 13% of participation.
On the other hand, asparagus did not have a change
variation in total FOB but a decrease of 6% with 96,072
tons.

Mango exports have been able to increase by 24% in total


value, meanwhile the volume export had a decrease of
13% with a total amount of 125,392 tons. The principal
destination for this product are The United States, Japan
and Netherlands.

The third main product in August was the avocado, which


have an increased of 2% with US$ 307 million in its
exported value and 0% in exported volume. The fourth
place in this period was occupied by the grape with a
reduce of 1% in FOB exported but a growth of 12% in total
tons.

Capsicum exports registered a total amount of US$ 146


million with a 12% value exported rise related with the
same period in 2014. on the other hand, The quinoa have
a decreased 22% with US$ 93 million. Also, artichoke
registered a reduce of 25% in FOB exported and 24% in
total tons.

RANKING MARKETS (JANUARY AUGUST 2015/2014) THOUSAND USD FOB
Until August, the main market of the agricultural
exportation was United States, but with a decrease of 2%
respecting 2015 with total sum of USD 818 million; where
asparagus where the main exported product. The exports
to Netherlands were USD 421 million, with an increase of
7%. This result was mainly due to avocado a rise in
shipments.

On the other hand, exports directed to Germany were


57,963 tons, which meant a decrease of 10%, where coffe
shipments registered a fall of 27%. China presented a
negative variation in total value and volume exported,
with a decrease of 6% and 4% respectively, that was due
to a reduce of exportations of seaweed, with a fall of 53%
in the FOB value.

While, Spain had a fall of 7% 8% in exported value with a


total of USD 156 million in exported value and 13% in
exported volume, due to a fall in avocado shipments.
United Kingdom showed an increase of 25% with a total
value of USD 147 million, where avocado, main product,
had a positive variation.

Otherwise, exports to Chile increased in 23% in exported


quantity with a total of 92,507 tons. While Hong Kong
and Canada presented a reduce in total FOB due to the
fall of its main products;

GOLDENBERRY (JAN-AUG) 2015/2014


DRIED GOLDENBERRRY is the
most representative presentation of the fruit, registering a rise
on its exportations value across the last years due to its beneficial
properties.
This highly nutritious super fruit is considered a "belly fat buster",
and when incorporated into a healthy diet has many nutritional
benefits, help burn fat and increase the metabolism and energy
as well as reducing stress and improving memory.

exports had reported a total of
US$ 1,058 thousand dollars. This
represent an increase of 24% in
comparison with the same period
of 2014.

This graphic showed that the last


few years the goldenberry exports
had an average growth of 22%.

compared with the same period of
2014, with a total amount of 82
tons.
This graphic showed that the last
few years the dried goldenberry
products exports had an average
growth of 23%.

Netherlands, had an increase of 510%


respect of the exported value in the same
period the last year. Also, this market
represented the 41% of participation.
Besides, we can appreciate an important
increase of the export value to Europe.
This increment was the result of high price
to these markets, where Germany had an
important growth of 48% and France,
1933%.

Without obstacles has been developed the campaign for mandarin
production in Camposol Company, Which this year obtained a growth of
35% more of production volume, that means more than 5,600 tons of this

USA: APPLE RANK AS TOP FRUIT FOR KIDS AGES 2-19


According to a recent study in Pediatrics, apples rank as the top fruit
consumed by people ages 2-19 in the United States. The study, which
looked at fruit consumption of more than 3,000 responses to the National
Health and Nutrition Examination Survey from 2011-12, found that apples
accounted for nearly 19% of fruit intake among children.

ARGENTINA: CHERRY PRODUCTION INCREASE, PRICES DECREASE


Mendoza's cherry production sector is expecting that spring elapses in less
than 60 days and that the weather promotes flowering and fruit set.
Meanwhile, the sector evaluates the damage done by the late frosts in
recent weeks and fears that the plants will continue to have a high level of
exposure to low temperatures because of this year's delay in sprouting.

MEXICO: CHIHUAHUA AFFECTED BY TAX EVASION US


PRODUCERS
Producers from the Fruit Producers Regional Agricultural Union (Unifrut)
stated that, apart from the current marketing problem faced by the apples
from Chihuahua, the sector was also being affected by the tax evasion of
fruit growers of the United States that introduced tons of product into the
national territory.
