A Platteville man arrested in connection with an indecent exposure incident

on the Rountree Branch Trail is scheduled to go to trial Aug. 9.
Ashley Javon Toney, 24, 990 Jackson
St. apartment 6, pleaded not guilty in
Grant County Circuit Court in Lancaster
Monday to charges of lewd and lascivious behavior exposure and resisting
or obstructing an officer.
Both charges are misdemeanors, but
include repeater sentence enhancers, as
included in an amended criminal complaint filed June 17, according to court
records. That could increase Toneys sentence from a maximum of nine months to
a maximum of two years on each charge,
in addition to $10,000 in fines per charge.

Toney is free on a $1,000 signature

bond with the condition that he not violate the law. A status conference is scheduled for July 27.
Toneys arraignment Monday included
an argument with Grant County Circuit
Judge Craig Day over the courts jurisdiction in the case, according to court
records.
According to police, a 21-year-old
woman was jogging on the trail when
she witnessed Toney with his genitals
exposed appearing to be engaged in a
sexual act in front of her on the trail
Monday. Toney was arrested after he lied
about his identity, police said.
Platteville police sent a Nixle alert saying police had received reports of a male

subject exposing himself in the city. Anyone with information on other incidents
is asked to call police, 348-2313.
Toney was found not guilty of a lewd
and lascivious behavior charge after a
jury trial June 1 for an incident at the
Platteville Public Library April 16, according to court records and police.
Toney is on the State of Indiana Sex
and Violent Offender Registry through
2023, according to the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.
According to the Northwest Indiana
Times, Toney served two years of a fouryear prison sentence and was required
to register as a sex offender after a jury
convicted him of two counts of sexual batSee TONEY page 3A u

Sarah Ellis celebrated, guessed the price and won a Mini Cooper on The Price Is Right Wednesday. Fremantle Media North America ($1,300) to the actual retail
price ($1,450) of a Dell desktop computer to win it, and
from that point on, she said, I
honestly think I blacked out. I

From that point on, Ellis fell
to the floor, then danced around
host Drew Carey whom she
had already told upon winning the computer, Oh my
god, you are so beautiful!
when she found out she would

whether each of five digits was

the Sound Effects Lady if she
