Instrument Programming
Widexs Diva digital hearing aids offer more advanced
programming options through the Compass software. These
advanced options also increase the amount of data flowing
between the hearing aid and the programming software and
slow down the programming process.

NOAHlinks new Bluetooth technology speeds up the hearing

aid programming process by providing faster data
communication between Compass and Widex digital hearing
aids. It allows you to access data-intensive programming
features more quickly.
This means that you dont have to wait several seconds to
ask your patient how the programming changes sound. This
allows for effective paired comparison of chosen frequencygain responses and/or microphone modes. You will notice
this savings in time especially when both ears are involved
in the programming such as binaural fine-tuning and finetuning with the Occlusion Manager.

Mobility and Comfort

An advantage of Bluetooth technology is wireless
transmission. This means NOAHlink can communicate
with your PC without any wires in-between. Thus,
NOAHlink offers flexibility and freedom of movement.
Your patients will no longer feel tied down during the
fitting process.
The wireless Bluetooth connection allows you to
perform fitting tasks up to 16 feet (5 meters) away
from your computer. In addition, the light-weight
NOAHlink interface is designed to be worn around the
neck. Hearing aid cables move with NOAHlink, so your
patient is free to walk around and test different sound
environments. This means you can:
Have the patient wear the Widex digital hearing
aids and listen in an environment farther away
from the programming room to determine the
appropriateness of the programmed response in
more environments and with more people;
Have the feedback test performed in a soundbooth while your programming computer is outside
of the sound-booth where it may be noisy;
Have the programming computer be away from
your real-ear measurement devices and still be
able to verify the real-ear output of the Widex
digital hearing aids while they are being adjusted;
Have the programming computer be away from a
hearing aid test box and still be able to measure its
coupler response in the Test mode;
Have the programming computer be outside a soundbooth and still be able to measure the aided threshold
while the Widex digital hearing aids are in the Test mode.
NOAHlink is also easy to maintain in the office. You do not
have to place the compact NOAHlink charger next to the
computer. You can place it at any electrical outlet.

**Important** Alkaline batteries cannot and must not be

recharged!! Please make sure that the rechargeable
batteries are in the NOAHlink during recharge.

Compatibility
NOAHlink can also be used with other hearing aid
manufacturers who are HIMSA members and who have
developed the necessary software to be compatible with
NOAHlink.

Hardware Requirements

Remote Site Portability

NOAHlink is compact and easy to carry. This means that taking
Compass on home visits will be much easier. You can perform
real-life programming in the patients listening environments
while enjoying the full support of the Compass software.
All you need is your laptop with Compass (in NOAH 3), your
NOAHlink and Widexs programming cables. NOAHlink can
operate with either alkaline or rechargeable batteries.

In order to communicate with NOAHlink, you will need a

Bluetooth interface device in your computer. You can
connect a Bluetooth adapter to your computers USB port.
You can also install a Bluetooth interface in PC Card format.
