Procedures

Itismygoaltohavemyclassroombeasafeandencouraging
environmentforeveryonehere,everyday.
Studentswillbepreparedeachdayandfollowtheclassroomrules:
ShowuponTime
RespecttheSpeaker
NoSideConversations
BeonTask

Beginning of Class Flow

Each day students start the class by quietly taking their


seat. Once they are seated they write their homework
(written on the white board) in their agendas.
On the same white board they will read the Do it Now
section to see what their warm-up for the day is. The
warm-up could range from a partner, group, or individual
activity.
I allow the students to self-grade once they see the
answers to their homework on the board. They may
correct their homework but only in pen.

Activity Day

On activity days student are to work with their partner


(person sharing the table with them) or their group of four.
Voice level for partner work is a shoulder voice, so that
the only person that can hear them is the person right
next to their shoulder. Voice level for group work is a
huddle voice, so that when huddled together the whole
group can hear.
No talking to students that is not apart of your group or
partner group.
Every student records group answers in workbook and is
ready to answer when called on; will not have to look at
other group members papers for help.

Notes Day

On notes days students are expected to have a textbook


and a notebook open in front of them to the correct pages.
This will be guided instruction and there will be no talking
aside from responding to teacher prompts or asking
questions about the content.
The notes will also be presented on the white board
through the projector.

End of Day

Consequences

Atthefiveminutebell(abellisrung5minutesbeforetheendoftheclass
period)studentsarewarnedtostartfinishupthecurrentactivity.
However,studentsarenottocleanupuntilIdismissthemto.
StudentsaredismissedfromclassbyrowasItakenoteofthecleanest
andquietestgroups.
Studentswillreceiveaverbalwarningfollowedbyavisualacronymin
theirnumberboxontheboard.TheacronymmaybeanOTforofftaskor
aTforsideconversation/talking,etc.Studentswillhaveamomenttotalk
withteacherprivatelyeitherduringorafterclassiftheyreceiveamarkin
theirnumberbox.
Ifstudentshaveatwoconsecutivedayswiththesameacronymsintheir
boxtheywilllosesnackorlunchtime(10min).Iftheyhaveathirdday
ofthesameofftaskbehavior,theirparentswillreceiveacallfromme
followedbyawriteupsenttotheoffice.

Forblatantdisrespectfulanddisruptivebehaviorthestudentwillbesent
outofclasswithworktodoforasetamountoftime,orstraighttothe
officewithawriteup.**Anytimeastudentiswrittenup,theparentswill
benotified.
