Have
students
watch
the
instructional
video
on
Khan
Academy
covering
the
Inscribed
Angle
Theorem
proof.
Scroll
down
to
the
bottom
of
the
page
for
the
link
to
the
video.
Students
should
already
have
a
basic
understanding
of
circle
geometry
terminology
and
understand
what
an
inscribed
angle
is.
After
watching
the
video
the
students
should
be
able
to
complete
the
flow
chart
below
to
be
able
to
prove
step
by
step
that
the
angle
subtended
at
the
circumference
by
a
semicircle
is
a
right
angle.
They
will
include
a
drawing
and
an
explanation
of
what
is
being
proved
each
step.
This
meets
the
content
standard:
CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.HSG.C.A.2.
Student
Engagement:
Have
the
class
watch
the
video
all
together
in
their
assigned
seats.
They
will
be
completing
this
assignment
individually.
The
goal
of
this
assignment
is
to
prove
that
the
angle
subtended
at
the
circumference
by
a
semicircle
is
a
right
angle.
After
completing
the
video
students
will
create
a
five-step
flow
chart
proof
with
each
step
providing
both
an
illustration
and
an
explanation
of
what
they
did
and
what
it
proves.
In
the
fifth
step
students
must
include
the
equations
that
has
been
deduced.
Assignment
Grading
Rubric:
This
assignment
is
out
of
ten
points
total.
Each
step
is
worth
two
points:
1
point
for
the
illustration
and
1
point
for
the
explanation.
The
drawing
and
explanation
must
match
the
step
title.
The
fifth
step
must
include
the
equation
that
can
be
deduced
from
the
previous
steps.
