Objectives
-to develop interest for culture and civilization
-to expand their knowledge of other countries and languages
-to be aware of the importance of knowing a language
1. Brainstorming At the beginning of the lesson, we started with a brainstorming to see what
European countries the students know. I wrote on the board the following columns: country, flag,
capital, nationality, language, words/ expression in that language, symbols/sights.
2. Quiz the students were divided in groups of 4. They had to answer to questions. The team
with the most correct answers wins. After checking the answers, the teacher discusses them with
the students giving them the explanation for those answers which they did not know.
