SYNOPSIS
The subject touches on both the theory and the practical aspects of town planning which are
relevant to surveyors. On the theory aspects, students will be taught on the principles of
planning and development process. While on the practical aspect, student will be exposed to
the current practices in physical planning.
OBJECTIVES
The objective of this subject is to make students appreciate the principles of physical planning
and understand the relation work between Geomatics Science and Town Planning studies.
Students are exposed to the preparation of layout and the designing process. By the end of the
semester, students will be able to prepare the land subdivisions for the housing development
using the Geographical Information System.
