KNIT 2 TOGETHER (abbreviated K2 tog)


Insert the right needle into the front of the first two
stitches on the left needle as if to knit (Fig.1), then knit
them together.

Straight knitting needles, sizes 3 (3.25 mm) and 5
(3.75 mm) or sizes needed for gauge

PICKING UP STITCHES
When instructed to pick up stitches, insert the needle
from the front to the back under two strands at the edge
of the worked piece (Fig.5). Wrap the yarn around the
needle as if to knit, then bring the needle with the yarn
back through the stitch to the right side, resulting in a
stitch on the needle.

Pick Up Sts, side

Repeat this along the edge, picking up the required


number of stitches.

Row 3: (Knit across to within one st of next marker,


increase twice) 3 times, knit across: 32sts.
Row 4: Knit across.

Rows 5-10: Repeat Rows 3 and 4, 3 times: 50sts.

Row 11: Knit across to within 2 sts of second marker,


K2 tog, SSK, knit across: 48sts.
Row 12: Knit across.

Rows 13-20: Repeat Rows 11 and 12, 4 times: 40sts.

Row 21: Knit across to within 2sts of first marker, K2tog,


SSK, removing marker for nose, knit across to within 2sts
of last marker, K2 tog, SSK, knit across: 36sts.

A crochet hook may be helpful pulling yarn through.

With large size needles, Gold, and leaving a long end for
sewing, cast on 5sts.

LEGS

Bind off all sts.

With large size needles, Gold, and leaving a long end for
sewing, cast on 5sts; with second ball of yarn, cast on 5 sts.
Row 1: Increase in each st across: 10sts on each Leg.

Row 2: Knit across.

Row 2: Knit across.

Row 3: Increase in each st across: 20sts.

Row 3: Increase in each st across: 20sts on each Leg.

Rows 4-34: Knit across.

Rows 4-34: Knit across.

Bind off all sts leaving a long end for sewing.

BODY
Row 1 (Joining row): Knit across both Legs with first ball
of yarn; cut yarn on unused ball: 40sts.
Rows 2-20: Knit across.

Row 21: K8, K2 tog, place marker, SSK, K16, K2 tog,


place marker, SSK, K8: 36 sts.

EAR (Make 2)
With large size needles, Gold, and leaving a long end for
sewing, cast on 10 sts.
Row 1: Increase in each st across: 20sts.

Row 5: K3, K2tog, SSK, K6, K2 tog, SSK, K3: 16 sts.

BODY
Change to large size needles.

Bind off all sts leaving a long end for sewing.

Row 1 (Increase row): (K1, increase) across: 72sts.

Row 8: Knit across.

Rows 2-20: Beginning by working a purl row, work in


Stockinette St (purl one row, knit one row).

ASSEMBLY
Weave yarn end through cast on sts on Leg and gather
tightly; sew Leg seam. Stuff Leg with polyester fiberfill.

HEM
Change to small size needles.

Flatten Leg at Joining Row with seam to inside.

Work in K1, P1 ribbing for 3 rows.

Working through both thicknesses, sew across Joining


Row.

Bind off all sts loosely in ribbing.

Repeat for second Leg.

Sew back seam.

Sew back seam on Body and halfway up back of Head.

LEFT STRAP
With right side facing, Green, and using small size
needles, skip 2sts from back seam, pick up 5sts.

Using photo as a guide for placement, attach lock-in


eyes on face, following directions on package. (Note: Not
recommended on gifts for children under the age of 3.)

Row 1: P1, (K1, P1) twice.

Row 2: K1, (P1, K1) twice.

Stuff Body and Head with polyester fiberfill, shaping


muzzle and Head area while stuffing.

Repeat Rows 1 and 2 until Strap measures approximately


3", ending by working a wrong side row.

Sew remaining seam at back and top of Head, stuffing


with polyester fiberfill before closing.
Weave yarn end through cast on sts on Arm and gather
tightly; sew Arm seam. Stuff Arm with polyester fiberfill.
Sew Arm to Body.
Repeat for second Arm.
Sew end of rows of Ear together for back seam; then sew
top seam.
Sew Ear to top of Head.
Repeat for second Ear.
Using Black, embroider nose.

Buttonhole Row: K1, P1, YO, P2 tog, K1.

Next Row (Decrease row): K2tog, P1, K2 tog: 3sts.


Next Row: P1, K1, P1.

Last Row: Slip 1 as if to knit, K2tog, pass slipped st over,


pull yarn through last st.
RIGHT STRAP
With right side facing, Green, and using small size
needles, beginning in seventh st to right of back seam,
pick up 5sts.
Work same as Left Strap.

JUMPER

Sew buttons to Bib.

Rows 1-6: (K1, P1) across.

NECK RIBBING
With small size needles and Red, cast on 46sts loosely.

Row 8: (P1, K1) across.

Work in K1, P1 ribbing for 4 rows increasing one st at


beginning of last row: 47 sts.

Row 10: (K1, P1) across.

RAGLAN SHAPING
Change to large size needles.

BIB
With small size needles and Green, cast on 20sts loosely.
Row 7: Increase, (P1, K1) across to last st, increase: 22sts.
Row 9: Increase, (K1, P1) across to last st, increase: 24sts.

WAISTBAND
Rows 1 and 2: Add on 12 sts loosely; (K1, P1) across:
48sts.
Rows 3-6: (K1, P1) across.

CARDIGAN

Row 1 (Buttonhole row): (K1, P1) twice, K3, increase,


place marker, increase, K8, increase, place marker,
increase , K9, repeat from to once, K3, [P2 tog, YO
(buttonhole made)], P1, K1: 55 sts.

twice.

Row 3: (K1, P1) twice, knit across to last 4 sts, (P1, K1)
twice.

Row 3: (K1, P1) twice, H knit across to within one st of


marker, increase twice; repeat from H 3 times more, knit
across to last 4 sts, (P1, K1) twice: 63 sts.

Row 4: Repeat Row 2.

Row 4: (P1, K1) twice, purl across to last 4 sts, (K1, P1)
twice.

Row 6: Repeat Row 2.


Change to small size needles.

Rows 5-8: Repeat Rows 3 and 4 twice: 79 sts.

Row 9 (Buttonhole row): (K1, P1) twice, H knit across to


within one st of marker, increase twice; repeat from H 3
times more, knit across to last 4 sts, P2 tog, YO, P1, K1:
87 sts.
Rows 10-20: Repeat Rows 2-9 once, then repeat Rows 2-4
once more: 127 sts.
Row 21 (Dividing row): Slip first 18 sts onto st holder for
left front; do not cut yarn, with separate yarn, knit 30 sts
(Left Sleeve), slip next 31 sts onto st holder for back, slip
next 30 sts onto st holder for Right Sleeve, slip next 18 sts
onto st holder for right front: 30 sts.
LEFT SLEEVE
Work even in Stockinette St for 3 rows.

Work in K1, P1 ribbing for 5 rows.


Bind off all sts loosely in established ribbing.
Sew Sleeve seams. Sew on buttons.

BERET

BAND
With small size needles and Green, cast on 60sts loosely.
Work in K1, P1 ribbing for 4 rows.
CROWN
Change to large size needles.
Row 1: (K1, increase) across: 90sts.

Rows 2-8: Beginning by working a purl row, work even in


Stockinette St.

Change to small size needles.

Row 9: (K7, K2tog) across: 80sts.

Work in K1, P1 ribbing for 3 rows.

Row 10 AND ALL WRONG SIDE ROWS: Purl across.

Bind off all sts loosely in established ribbing.


RIGHT SLEEVE
Row 1: Slip sts from Right Sleeve st holder onto large size
needle, knit across: 30sts.
Work same as Left Sleeve.
BODY
Row 1: Slip sts from right front, back and left front st
holders onto large size needle, (K1, P1) twice, knit across
to last 4 sts, (P1, K1) twice: 67 sts.
Row 2: (P1, K1) twice, purl across to last 4 sts, (K1, P1)
twice.

Row 5: (K1, P1) twice, knit across to last 4 sts, P2 tog, YO,
P1, K1.

Row 11: (K6, K2 tog) across: 70sts.


Row 13: (K5, K2tog) across: 60sts.

Row 15: (K4, K2 tog) across: 50sts.


Row 17: (K3, K2tog) across: 40sts.
Row 19: (K2, K2 tog) across: 30sts.
Row 21: (K1, K2 tog) across: 20sts.
Row 23: K2tog across: 10sts.
Row 24: P2 tog 5 times: 5sts.

Thread yarn needle with end and weave through


remaining sts; gather tightly and secure. Sew back seam.
With Red, make 1" pom-pom and sew to top of Beret.
