Who Am I?

Jasmine Her

- Society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they
know they shall never sit in.
- My dream is to become a pediatric surgeon. As a pediatric surgeon,
I will have the opportunity to help children. Children will be my main
way of contributing to our society and our future. Saving kids allows
me to live on in the future, through the work I perform on them.

I am very punny with my humor, for example: If two vegetarians got in


a fight it wouldnt be beef, it would be a missed steak!

schools cafeteria and have over 150+ community service hours.

I believe that respect is one of the most important traits to have in


a person. It shows how you were raised on gives others an idea on
your morals and your roots.

Junior Year

Motivation

What motivates me?


- My family motivates me. I grew up in a low income family and
hope that my future career can help provide for my mom and
dad so they wont need to work their whole lives.
- My education motivates me. I am always curious and willing
to learn new skills and gain more experience.
- My sense of adventure motivates me. I love to explore and I
plan to travel one day and gaining a job can help me fund my
adventures.
- My compassion and kindness motivates me. I want to provide
for our community through human kindness and helping out
those in need.

- I am becoming a doctor because I want to help people.
More specifically, I want to help children. Children
are humanitys hope and future. To choose a career
where I can live on through the lives I will save

Short Term Goals

Transfer out to UC Davis in 2019
Graduate with my Bachelors in Microbiology 2021
Apply to Medical School in Uc Davis and graduate
2021-2025

Long Term Goals


- Join the Navy as an interning and residential doctor
2025-2030
- Leave the Navy and finish my fellowship and UC Davis
Childrens Hospital or Valleys Children 2030-2032
- Move back to Merced (most likely) and work for Mercy
Medical 2032-20??

How do I get there?


- The experience gained by these classes and volunteer work
have been plentiful.

The classes have allowed me to gain knowledge of the sciences and the
body, which relates to my major and future profession, as a doctor.

The volunteer I have done, in mentorship, have allowed me to fully


understand the classes and keep the work in my memory in order to
help my peers.

The volunteer I have done in Mercy Medical give me general knowledge


of how a hospital is ran.

The club I am a part of has allowed me to gain information about the


medical career and profession.

How do I get there?

I am a part of the Medical Club, mentoring for a genetics class and a


Mercy Medical volunteer.

I am also the Vice President of the Environmental Science Academy, in


order to gain leadership skills.

I am a student cafeteria worker which teaches me work ethic and


allows me to gain experience.

Planning for the Future

I plan to study and work hard in order to graduate with honors.

I plan to apply for financial aid packages in order to make college


more affordable.

I plan on tagging to UC Davis through the Merced Junior Colleges TAG


program.

I plan to get a part time job out of high school and keep one
throughout college.

I plan to get internships in labs to gain lab experience.

I plan to apply for the UC Davis Medical Program and intern in the UC
Davis Childrens Hospital in order to gain experience.

After gaining my MD, I plan on joining the NAVY as a surgical intern


and resident.

After my four years, I plan on doing my fellowship in Valleys


Children or going back to UC Davis Childrens Hospital.

Reflection
- I have taken the necessary steps in order to prepare for
my future. Despite the personal conflicts in the first
two years of high school, I have always tried my best to
invest all of me into my education.
- I am ready to go forward in order to pursue my goals and
future career. I have taken a lot of the extra curricular
classes (microbiology, anatomy, genetics,)have mentored
for a few science classes, a part of the medical club in
El Capitan and I am a volunteer for Mercy Medical
Hospital.

Final Thoughts
- I have taken lots of steps and challenges in order to
gain the best and most knowledgeable version of myself. I
am proud of myself and I am prepared for more challenges
and more steps in order to have the privilege of serving
my country through medical care and to have the honor of
helping Americas children.
