It has been brought to the notice of this office that most of the colleges have miserably failed to apply for new curriculum and Regulation when the student rejoined after a break of study though a specific clause is provided in the Regulations. In this connection, [ would like to inform you that according to clause 19.2 of the Rules and Regulations of Anna University, if a student has a break of study during in his course of study or joined from lateral entry or readmission or transfer or transfer cum readmission, he has to apply for equivalent subject for the Regulations underwhich the student joined after a break of study as he comes under new curriculum and Regulations in force. When this regulation is in force either college or student reluctant to come forward to apply for new curriculum addressed to the Director, Academic Courses for obtaining orders and as a result the student could not get their degree in time on completion of course of study. Inorder to avoid unnecessary hardship to the students and litigations, I request you to ensure that the procedure mentioned above are scrupulously followed in future without fail.
