AMENDMENT. Section 7.03(A) of Article
VII (Initiative and Referendum) of the Iowa
City Charter shall be amended to comply
with Iowa Code Section 362.4 by:
Replacing the following language:
A. Number of Signatures. Initiative and
referendum petitions must be signed by
eligible electors equal in number to at least
twenty five percent (25%) of the number of
persons who voted in the last regular city
election, but such signatures of eligible
electors shall be no fewer than three
thousand six hundred.
with the following language:
A. Number of Signatures. Initiative and
referendum petitions must be signed by
eligible electors equal in number to at least
ten percent (10%) of the number of
persons who voted in the last regular city
election, but such signatures of eligible
electors shall be no fewer than ten.
