First Motif Only

The next step is only for the first motif that is finished. Its not attaching to any of its neighbors.
It must be complete and the rest of the afghan will build with this motif being the foundation.
1. Fasten on Color B to the middle of the 3 dc in any corner in the round below. Ch 3, skip a stitch
1 sc into the next stitch. Repeat all the way around. At the end of the round, join with a sl st to
the beginning sc. Each side will have 7 ch-3 spaces. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Joining the Rest of the Motifs

The rest of the motifs will then be joined to each other as you go. The following step is how to
you join them as you crochet. You will follow the same instructions as the first motif for the first
side then continue with the following instructions.
Make sure the motifs have both right sides facing up as you join. This prevents a motif from
appearing upside down.
You may join up to 1 to 3 sides together with one rotation. So plan ahead.

1. Joining the next side or any additional sides, *Ch 1, Sl St around same ch-3 space in the motif
you are joining to, ch 1, skip a stitch, 1 sc into the next stitch.
2. Do the joining element for each side you need it and then return back to doing it like the first
motif when there is nothing to join to.

Final Border Around

hook, chain 1, 1sc, extended picot made, Repeat from * around. Join with sl st to first sc.
Fasten off.
