Day 01:
Arrive Chennai
On arrival to Chennai and transfer to the hotel. Half a day Chennai sightseeing and overnight
stay in Chennai.

Chennai Tirupati (150 km)
Morning after breakfast, proceed to Tirupati famous for the ancient temple of Lord
Venkateswara. Darshan and overnight stay at Tirupati.
Day 03:

Morning after breakfast drive to Mahabalipuram enroute visit Kanchipuram the ancient capital

Pondicherry
After breakfast proceed for a full day sightseeing tour of Pondicherry covering Sri Aurobindo

After breakfast drive to Chidambaram, which has the famous Nataraja temple. Nataraja is Lord
Shiva as a cosmic dancer. After lunch, drive to Thanjavur or Tanjore. Tanjore once the capital of
the Chola Kings, has the Brahadeswara temple (or the big temple of God). Overnight at
Tanjore.
Day 07:
Tanjore/Thanjavur Trichy/Thiruchirapalli (60 km)
After breakfast leave for Trichy, situated on the banks of the Caveri River and famous for the
Ranganath temple at Srirangam. Check into the hotel. After lunch take a city tour visiting Rock
fort and its temple at a height of over 23mts. Also visit Srirangam and Jambukeshwar Temple.
Overnight at Trichy.
Day 08:
Trichy Madurai (140 km)
After breakfast proceed to Madurai and check into the hotel. After lunch take a city tour visiting
- Meenakshi temple, King Tirumala's Palace, Great tank and Gandhi museum. Overnight at

Madurai Rameswaram (175 km)
After breakfast proceed to Rameswaram. Lord Rama is said to have visited Rameswaram before
going into battle with Lanka. One of the twelve Jyotirlingam shrines is also well known for its
magnificent corridors and the massive sculptured pillars lining them. Overnight at
Rameswaram.
Day 10:
Rameswaram Kanyakumari (300 km)
After breakfast drive to Kanyakumari and check into the hotel on arrival. Evening visit

Early morning visit to Suriyanar Temple (sun Temple), Kanjanoor (Venus

Day 1 : Arrive Chennai. Met and transferred to hotel.

PM Sightseeing of Chennai covering Fort St. George, Government Museum,
Kapaleeshwar Temple and Marina Beach.
Fort St. George: this fort is one of the finest representation of British Military's
Construction in India. The fort was the centre from where Robert Clive, the founder of
British Empire began his empire building process.
Government Museum: one of the great museums of India established in 1857. Exquisite
carvings, authentic relics, sculptures and other interesting collections can be found
here.
National art Gallery: has a finest collection of old paintings.
Kapaleeshwar Temple: this temple was constructed in the 13th century BC. This is a live
example of the architectural skills of the Dravidians.

Day 2 : Drive to Mahabalipuram (50 Kms. / 2 hrs.) enroute visiting Kancheepuram
Temples. On arrival check into hotel.

Day 3 : AM Sightseeing of Mahabalipuram covering Arjuna's Penance, Shore Temple
and the Five Rathas.
Arjuna's Penace : This sculptured marvel, is an enormous relief made on two huge
boulders. One of the biggest open-air rock canvases in the world, this bas-relief is
31m long and 9m high. The surface of the rock has detailed carvings, showing the most
endearing and natural rendition of animals
Shore Temple : It is one of the oldest temples in south india nestling on the shores of
the Bay of Bengal, was once a port of the Pallavas consisting of two Siva temples and a
carving of Anantasayana Vishnu. This historic monument built largely between the 7th
and the 9th century has been classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Five Rathas : The five rathas are Dharmaraja Ratha, Bhima Ratha, Arjuna Ratha,
Draupadi Ratha and Nakul Sahadev Ratha. These are monolithic temples, each created
in a different style, They are also known as the Pancha Pandava Rathas, and the fort of
the rathas are supposed to have been scooped out of a single rock formation

Aurobindo Ashram is the soul of Pondicherry. It was founded by the great spiritual

Mother, his main disciple. The ashram attracts thousands of visitors of all nationalities.

Day 6 : AM Drive to Swamimalai (130 Kms. / 3 hrs.) enroute visiting Chidambaram &
Gangaikondacholapuram temples. On arrival check in to hotel.
Gangaikondacholapuram : The beautiful town of Gangaikondacholapuram was
constructed on the banks of the river Ganges by the Chola King Rajendra I to
commemorate his victory over the kingdoms bordering it. The rock carvings here are
bold and make an impact with their keen sense of detailing and style.

Day 7 : AM Drive to Tanjore (36 kms. / 45 mins) via Darasuram temple. On arrival check
into Hotel.
The Darasuram temple is a fine testimony to the skill and craftsmanship of 12th century
Chola architects. The temple is covered with exquisite sculptures of Lord Siva in all his
magnificence.
Overnight Tanjore.
Day 8 : AM Sightseeing of Tanjore covering Brihadeshwara Temple and Library and
later drive to Chettinad (65 Kms. / 2 hrs.)
Brahadeeswara Temple : Built by the Chola King, Raja Raja I in the 10th century AD.
The temple has a gigantic Mahalingam and the second largest monolithic Nandi in
India. Besides this, it has a gigantic 14-tiered pyramid-shaped tower over the temple
sanctum, 64.8m tall with a square base topped by huge monolithic granite cupolas. Its
unique construction ensures that the shadow of the cupola never falls on the ground.
Overnight Chettinad.
Day 9 : AM Sightseeing of Chettinad and later drive to Madurai visiting The Rockfort
Temple and Srirangam Temple in Trichy enroute (210 kms. / 6 hrs.)
The Rockfort Temple : This magnificient temple is dedicated to Lord Siva, his consort
Parvathi and Lord Ganesha. Built on an 83m high rock that dates back to 3800 million
years ,it offers a spectacular view of the city. Climbing up the 437 steps cut into the rock
face is a picturesque and spiritual experience as several small shrines dot the way.
Srirangam Temple : A Marvel of South Indian architecture and spread over an
astounding 2.5 sq.kms with 21 huge gopurams. The temple was built between the 14th
and 17th centuries on an island in the Cauvery. It boasts of the worlds largest temple
tower,a mammoth 13-tiered, 72 mt marvel! It is known as the Raja Gopuram and has a
gleaming golden dome which is plated with pure gold leaves

Day 10 : AM Sightseeing of Madurai covering Temple, Tirumalai Nayak Palace and
Theppakulam.
Evening visit the Meenakshi Temple for Puja ceremony.
Meenakshi Temple : The Madurai Meenakshi Temple is dedicated to Goddess
Meenakshi, the protectress of Madurai. Built in the 16th Century by Tirumalai Nayak, it
is spread over 350 hectares. Enclosed by walls, each has a nine-storey gopuram which
is adorned by thousands of intricately carved celestial and animal figures
Tiurmalai Nayak Palace : One of the grandest monuments in Madurai and a stunning
piece of Indo-Saracenic architecture. It was built in the early 17th century by Tirumalai
Nayak with the finest of craftsmen. The massive columns and finely carved arches and

Day 01: Arrival at Chennai (Madras)
Upon arrival at Chennai, our representative will assist and transfer you to hotel. Chennai, the

hundreds of amazing temples and historic monuments. After resting a little, proceed for a half
day sightseeing tour of Chennai covering Valluvar Kottam, National Art and Government
Museum, Snake Park, Anna Zoological Park, St. George Fort, Gandhi Memorial, Kala Kshetra,
Parthasarathi temple and Kapaleeshwar temple. Evening visit the picturesque Marina Beach

After breakfast, you will be driven to Kanchipuram and later Mahabalipuram. Renowned for its

important temples Vaikuntha Perumal temple, Varadaraja temple, Kailasnatha temple and
Kamakshi Amman temple in Kanchipuram. Then drive to Mahabalipuram, famous for its historic

After breakfast drive to Chidambaram also called as Thillai, which has the famous Nataraja
temple with the root of the sanctum-sanctorum covered with golden plates is located in the

Chidambaram - Thanjavur (104kms/03hrs)
After lunch proceed to Tanjore - the home of Carnatic music, musical instruments, dance and
traditional hadicrafts, Tanjore (Thanjavur) is popular for its temples and paintings. Visit the
famous Brihadeeswarar temple housing a huge Shiva lingam and a stone sculpture of the Nandi
bull. The Art Gallery and the Saraswathi Mahal Library are also well known places of interest.

Day 05: Thanjavur - Trichy
After breakfast leave for Trichy. It is also called Trichurapalli. The place is one of the most

Day 06: Trichy - Madurai (140 km- 4hrs)
Morning we drive to Madurai, a 2600 years old famous temple town of south India. Arrive and
check into the Hotel. In the afternoon visit the famous Meenakshi temple, the Mariamman
Teppakulam (Great Tank), the 1000-pillared Hall, Gandhi Museum and the Palace of Tirumalai
Nayak. In the evening visit the Alagar Hills and Thirupura Rock Temple. Over night stay at hotel.
Day 07: Madurai - Rameshwaram Madurai (172 km- 4hrs).
After morning breakfast we leave for Rameshwaram, a sacred pilgrimage destination for Hindus
known for its enchanting scenic beauty. Visit the famous Ramanathaswamy Temple, located
close to sea on the eastern side of the island. Also visit Kothandaramaswamy Temple, Ramlinga
Vilasam Palace and Gandamadana Parvatham, the stepped mandapam which gives an

Day 08: Madurai - Thiruvananthapuram

Day 1: Arrival in Chennai

Upon arrival in Chennai, meet our representative wholl assist you in smooth transfer to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 2: Chennai
On day 2 of the tour, leave your hotel for a city tour. Fondly known as the Gateway of South, Chennai is home to a number
of tourist attractions. The list of attractions that you cover during the sightseeing includes the Theosophical Society, Sri
Parthasarathy Temple, Kalakshetra, the St. Mary's Church, Kapaliswara Temple, San Thomas Cathedral Basilica, Mylapore,
Fort St. George and houses the Secretariat and Legislative Assembly of Tamil Nadu. The evening is at leisure. Stay
overnight.

Day 3: Chennai Kanchipuram- Mahabalipuram

On the 3 rd day, leave for Kanchipuram, by road. Around 70 km westwards of Mahabalipuram, Kanchipuram is referred to as
one of the 7 sacred cities of Hinduism. The Chola capital during the 2 ndcentury, Kanchipuram today is an important place
where people come to gain knowledge about Jainism, Hinduism and Buddhism.
You may visit the citys popular temples such as Kamakshi Amman temple, Ekambareswarar temple and so on. Also visit the
silk weavers of the city, residing here from past four centuries. Thereafter, continue towards Mahabalipuram. On arrival,
complete the check-in formalities at the hotel. Overnight stay.

Day 04: Mahabalipuram

The 4 th day is scheduled for sightseeing in Mahabalipuram. Also known as Mamallapuram, it has been the ancient port of
the Pallava rulers. During their reign, the Pallava rulers constructed a number of architectural marvels such as caves,
sculptural panels, temples and Monolithic rathas.

One of such attraction that you will visit today includes Krishna Mandapam. Dedicated to Lord Krishna, it is the worlds
largest cave-cut Hindu temple. The walls of this temple consist of several figures, including those of Lord Krishna, humans,
birds and demi-gods.
The other attraction will be the Shore temple. Dating back to the 8 th century, this temple is one of the finest examples of
Dravidian style of architecture.
The last attraction of the day is the Five (Paanch) Rathas. Also called the Paandava Rathas, it is a group of 5 monolithic
temples, each erected in a different architecture styling. Back to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 05: Mahabalipuram - Pondicherry

Today, get an assisted transfer to Pondicherry by car. On reaching, check-into the hotel. The rest of the day is free for you
to partake in the activities of your interest.
You can interact with the locals, can relish sumptuous local delicacies, can explore the surroundings on your own, can visit
the local market and more. back to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 06: Pondicherry

On day 6 of the tour, get all set for sightseeing in Pondicherry. The attractions that you visit today include the Sacred Heart
Church, the Rai Niwas and Sri Aurobindo Ashram. Apart from being a religious site, Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is
an oriental specimen of Gothic style of architecture.
The other attraction, Raj Niwas, is the offi cial residence of the Lieutenant Governor of Pondicherry.

Day 07: Pondicherry - Thanjavur (Tanjore)

Today, get all set to leave for Tanjore in the morning, by car. En-route halt at Chidambram. This quaint town of Tamil Nady is
known as the seat Lord Nataraja, the Cosmic Dancer. Here, you visit Chidambram Temple, which is spread in around 40
acres of land
. Also called Thillai Nataraja temple, it has a distinct feature of 5 sabhas. Thereafter, continue to Tanjore. On arrival, checkin at your hotel. After some rest, the rest of the day is for sightseeing in Tanjore including the very well-known
Brihadeeswarar Temple.
This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a temple that is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The other attractions of the day include the
Saraswathi Mahal Library and the Art Gallery. Overnight in Tanjore.

Day 08: Thanjavur - Trichy

The morning of day 8 is for an assisted on-road transfer to Trichy or Tiruchirappali. As you reaching Trichy and complete the
check-in formalities, you are free to spend the day as per your own liking.
You can explore the surroundings and the nearby attractions, can visit the local market to shop for souvenirs, can interact
with the locals, can relish tasty food and more. Back to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 09: Trichy

Partake in visiting and exploring the prime attractions of Trichy today. The first visit is to the Srirangam, located at a
distance of around 5 km from Trichy.
Here you visit Sri Ranganathaswami temple, which is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and boasts of having one of Indias largest
temple complexes. Your next visit is to the Tiruchirapalli Rock Fort, placed on the banks of the River Kaveri. Stay overnight.

Day 10: Trichy - Madurai

On the 10 th day leave by road for Madurai, also famed as the Athens of the East. As you arrive, check-into the hotel. The
rest of the day is at leisure. You can partake in the activities of your interest. Visit the local market to indulge in shopping
and relishing the local food, indulge in the facilities of the hotel, have an interaction with the locals and more. Overnight

Day 11: Madurai

The morning of the 11 th day is for visiting the prime attractions of Madurai. Placed on the banks of Vidai River, this popular
city of Southern India is around 2500 years old. Visit the splendid Meenakshi-Sundareswarar Temple or Meenakshi Amman
Temple.
This magnificent temple is dedicated to Goddess Parvati, the consort of Lord Shiva. While the Goddess is known as
Meenakshi in this part of the country, the Lord is known as Sundareswarar.
This magnificiebt temple has 14 gopurams. The afternoon is at leisure. Attend the wonderful evening prayer ceremony at
the Meenakshi Temple. Stay overnight in Madurai.

Day 12: Madurai - Rameshwaram - Madurai

Day 12 is scheduled for a day-trip to Rameshwaram for darshan at the Rameshwaram temple. If history is to be believed
the island and the temple got their names from the event when Lord Rama worshipped Lord Shiva to gain penance when he
was coming from Lanka, after killing Ravana. Back to Trichy hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 13: Madurai - Chennai

In the morning, get an assisted transfer to the railway station to go on-board a train for Chennai. As you reach, get
transferred to the hotel. Spend the rest of the time relaxing in your hotel room. Stay overnight.

Day 14: Departure from Chennai

Today is the last day of the tour. Get transferred to the airport to board your flight back home.
