Graduates of the ACCA’s Certified Accounting Technicians [CAT] programme can obtain both a B.Sc. [Honours] in Applied
Accounting and the ACCA professional qualifications. ACCA's innovative partnership with Oxford Brookes University paved the
way for this ground-breaking opportunity. The degree is awarded by Oxford Brookes University, a University of Distinction and
Excellence on completing the ACCA fundamental level examinations, and submitting a Research & Analysis Project. ACCA is
the largest and fastest-growing international accountancy body, with over 411,000 students and members in 170 countries.
What are the Entry requirements? x No formal qualification required but achievement of a GCE is advisable
x Diploma and degree holders in a non-business or accounting related subject
When can I commence study? x Full-time [September, January, March and June each year]
x Part-time [September, January, March and June each year]
x Distance Learning [You may commence at anytime in the year]
What will I study? x Paper 01: Recording Financial Transactions [RFT] [CBE]
x Paper 02: Information and Management Control [IFMC] [CBE]
x Paper 03: Maintaining Financial Records [MFR] [CBE]
x Paper 04: Accounting For Costs [AFC] [CBE]
x Paper 08: Implementing Audit Procedures [IAP] [PBE]
x Paper 10: Maintaining Finances [MF] [PBE]
[CBE] = Computer Based Examination [PBE] = Paper Based Examination
How is the course assessed? x CBE: Examination over two [2] hours [Papers 1 to Paper 4]
x PBE: Examination over three [3] hours [Papers 5 to Paper 10]
Any Exemptions? x Holders’ of qualifications acceptable to the ACCA [e.g. A Level with Accounting]
Any deadlines I should know about? x Register with the ACCA by 31st December for the next June Examination
x Register with the ACCA by 15th August for the next December Examination]
What next after the course? x Advance to Year 2 of the degree programme or Employment within Industry
Can I combine this with another course? x SAGE Line 50 & Payroll, Quick book, Pastel, TAS, MS Excel etc. are recommended
