Case Study 2-B

1. As a supervisor, Marilyn should report any employee issues that arise. I think
Marilyn should inform upper management that employees are seeking positions
with the new company. The company will be better prepared.
2. It does constitute an ethical decision for her. She will have to decide if working
for this new company is worth leaving a company who depends on her. She needs
to inform her current employer that she is considering other options before taking
an interview. If Marilyn is honest with her current company about the interview
offer, I do not believe taking a job interview is an unethical decision.
3. I do not think it is very ethical that this new company will be receiving money to
move into an area where other businesses have failed .But if the company succeeds
this could open job opportunities for people who have lost their jobs in the
businesses that have failed there. Although it may be unethical, it may provide
more opportunities for people who live within that community.
