History and Rule
Abdul Aziz Ibn Saud was born in January 1875; he was the first king and the person who
laid the foundation of kingship in Saudi Arabia, his father Abdul Rahman bi Faisal ruled Nejd,
which was known as the second state. The Saud Tribe had ruled the Central part of Arabia for
130 years and they had tried to take control over Diriyah which was the first Saudi state. His
mother named, Sarah al Sudairi was a member of the Sudairi tribe. (saudinf)
It was the rime of the 1890s when the Rashidis tribe took over todays capital city
Riyadh. Abdul Aziz was barely 15 at that time. His family took shelter with Al Murrah and after
some time he moved to Qatar and Bahrain where he passed some time and ten moved on to lives
in Kuwait for almost a decade. . (saudinf)
In 1901 he alongside few of his family members and his half brother named Mohammad
went on to a mission in order to conquer Najd, the place where he spent most of his life and lived
for nearly 15 years, they were 200 in total and after Ramadan he moved on to Raid on Riyadh
and battle with the ruler of that time Al Rashid. (saudinf)
He took an extremely brave step and took 40 men out of the 200, climbed the wall
through the Palm trees that were alongside the wall, and overnight took over the city, the date
was 15th of January, 1902. The governor of the city was killed and it was the time when the state
that would come out to be called Saudi Arabia came in to being. (saudinf)

He took over most of the parts in Najd in the coming 2 years and in 1904 Al Rashid
appealed the Ottoman Empire for Military support. They sent military and those armed forces
allied with Al Rashid to give a massive defeat to Abdul Aziz.
He learnt from his defeat and after developing various war tactics he moved on to help
him, succeed after two years finally defeating the Empire and Al Rashid. Till 1912 he completed
several of his quests and founded Ikhwan that is known as Islamic and Military Brotherhood.
He further after taking approval from the Religious leaders he made a policy to make a
complete Alliance with the other parts of the state as well and together. In the time of World War
1 the government in Great Britain built diplomatic associations with his rule. The Treaty of
Darin was signed and as a result of which he yet again forced war over Al Rashid. (saudinf)
In 1922 he signed a agreement with Uqair and kept on receiving various forms of support
from the British Allies. After the treaty of Darin got suspended in the year 1927 in a conference
that was held in regard of the feasibility of this treaty in years to come, he further oppose with
the Sharif of Mecca and during the next 25 years he extended his boundaries to various parts of

He was heavily rewarded with 5000 per month pounds tribute with huge amount of
weaponry from the British government which he further used to take control of various parts of
the Arab World. Subsequent to two years of war, he gained more and more support of British and
he raged over most of the regions of the Central part of Arab and gained more and more power

Ikhwan disagreed with his attitude towards the British and they became rebellious as he
had given parts of the land to British as well which was a conflict of interest. He further fought a
battle with the Ikhwan and they were commenting on the British being the Infidels and non
Muslims.
After a tiring effort made in the battle of Sabilla in 1929 he suppressed them to obey his
government orders in the long run. It was the year 1932 when after 3 years of the war, 23 of
September, he united all the lands under the name, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and he was the first

In personal life he had various concubines and wives and all in all he had almost 22
spouses, many of which were founded on the basis of doing alliance with various tribes, he had
100 children, out of which he had 45 sons. (saudinf)
He also allied with the Shekh if Jordan Khuzani and in the later part of 1937, Rahsodi
spent his life after moving to the kingdom under the warmth and generosity King Abdul Aziz Al
Saudn the second world war he posed on being of neutral grounds in the second world war, but it

During his last years he got the chance to meet various prominent figures in world history
like Roosevelt and Churchill. He moved on to the build railway system and it stretched from
Riyadh to Jeddah, it was built at a cost of almost 70 million dollars which was a big investment
at that time.

Yet it was utilized for many years for business purposes. He passed away in November
1953 after being assaulted in the Palace of Taif, he couldnt not survive the attack and later and
was given a Royal Funeral after his death and was buried in the Cemetery of Al Oud.
Personality of King Abdul Aziz
This is beyond any doubt that he was one of the bravest men, Arab had ever produced. He
was a fighter and Combatant with great skills of war and Battle, the example of leading and army
of only 200 men and with the help of 40, managing to take control over a city that you have been

He was a great administrator and during his tenure there were various developments that
came onto being and the vision of uniting the Saudi land making it a one unit and reside-able for
this many conflicted tribes and making them agree on points of mutual concern seems to be task

He was highly welcoming and he let his pasts opposing tribe leader let in and take refuge
with the family at his place is also something that needs all the admiring that he can get, he
redeemed various deviated tribes and helped them with open arms in need of development.

Under his ruling, petrol was found in the Kingdom and he signed agreement to give
control to the US companies despite having a deep alliance with the British. Despite all his
leniency and will, he was extremely audacious in terms of coercing his enemies and briskly

He was highly motivated towards the wellbeing of the masses due to which he envisioned
various things that in the long run proved to be helpful for the Saudis and in this life span he
allied with various tribes and married in those from which he had 100 children from 22 marital

Be made efforts to bring all the tribes to bring them closer and unite the whole kingdom
under one flag and he envisioned a bright future of his land that gave a rise to a nation that was
fighting all the time for land and he brought them under one name, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Moreover he rose the name of the his Nation at various levels and played a role in various
issue that the world had at their disposal, he formed an allegiance with the emerging super power
which actually gave them immense amount of support for a longer period of time.
He was progressive which he why he invested 70 million in railway as his vision was to
see a bright future with transpiration modification ahead, Moreover he allied with a nation that
had all hope to move up in the world map. Undoubtedly it proved to be a right decision in regard
to the developments that occurred and changed the whole scope of Saudi Arabia, through which
we now see so many developments creating job opportunities for the foreign countries.
All in all he vision a evolving Saud Arabia and it certainly paid off with the approach of
the coming rulers of Saudi Arabia that hardly changed in the course of 63 years after his death.
Now Saudi Arabia has a lot of developments that make it stand out amongst all Islamic nations
and it is due to the policies he made and how he addressed the issues at hand. He will forever be
remembered as the father of the nation called Saudi Arabia.
