This week in

5th Grade
Reading: Social Studies: Writing: We will continue with our US President
Project. It will incorporate standards from Reading, Writing and Social Studies
and will take us up to Thanksgiving Break to complete. This week we will be
looking at key words of Presidency and their meanings. Our goal is to ensure
that when we are writing we are using technical terms to take our paper to the
next level of complexity. We will continue to use reliable sources to track
important information on notecards. A bare minimum of 20 notecards are due
on November 4th. An example of a notecard is on my Weebly under the
(more) US Presidents Tab.
Word Study: Please see Ms. Hedricks Weebly for an update on your students
word sorts. Amybhedrick.weebly.com
Math: We will start the week by reviewing for our Cycle One assessment (the
test will be Tuesday). As we continue throughout the week we will be covering
adding and subtracting fractions. Please keep up with the resources on Mrs.
Carrikers Weebly to help with these concepts.
Science: Next week we will be discussing the properties of matter. We will be
looking at concepts such as density, insulators and conductors. Please make
sure your child is keeping up with their flashcards and studying them nightly.
