Reimagining Evangelism, Rick Richardson, 2007 Scripture Union/InterVarsity Press(USA)

ISBN 978-1-84427-275-4
(This tries to think through the implications of a changing culture for the way we do evangelism.)
This is the book I gave to my friend at church, it might sound heavy, but I found it useful and practical
and not at all dry.
Ambiguous Evangelism, Bob Mayo, S Savage, & S Collins, 2004 SPCK, ISBN 0-281-05637-4
(About Evangelism in a context of Postmodern Ignorance of the Gospel and the Bible..)
I think this is probably from an Anglican background, but it doesnt affect what the book has to say.
Not academic, but not totally lightweight either. Cant tell you more as it is not accessible at the
moment.
Questioning Evangelism, Randy Newman, 2007 Kregel, ISBN 0-8254-3324-X
(About following Jesus in using questions in evangelism, rather than just giving answers.)
This asks whether we should use questions more, but along the way looks at a number of issues
relating to how we witness in our present culture. Not academic, but more challenging than simply
popular.
Live to Tell, Brad Kallenberg, Brazos Press/Baker Books (USA) ISBN 1-58743-050-9
(Another book about Evangelism and Postmodernism, but sees Postmodernity more positively.)
This book is only small, 138 pages, but uses fairly academic language to ask whether postmodern
philosophy might actually help the Church to break free from outdated ways of thinking and also to
share the gospel more effectively with postmodern, post-Christian young people. I found it helpful,
despite the somewhat academic language.
Evangelism After Christendom, Bryan Stone, 2007 Brazos Press/Baker Books (USA)
ISBN 1-588743-194-7
(Theology and Practice of Evangelism post-Christendom.)
This is somewhat academic theology, very good discussion of how to be Church in a changing culture,
with some criticism showing how we do church sometimes contradicts what we are trying to say. I
really enjoyed reading this, but the title is slightly inaccurate, not much in here on what most people
think is evangelism. Good for Pastors and Preachers, though.
Worship Evangelism, Sally, Morgenthaler, 1999Zondervan, ISBN 0-310-22649-X
(About the creation of evangelistic worship services.)
I havent read this yet, but it is about designing evangelistic worship services. It is probably best suited
to those who have fairly structured and planned worship events, rather than the laid back or open style,
but might be worth a look.
