On Family Sunday we will be talking

about this great new initiative the EFCA
is sponsoring!

Somebody once said there are two kinds of

people in the world. There are those who
wake up in the morning and saying, Good
morning, Lord, and there arethose who wake
up in the morning and say, Good Lord, it's
morning. - What we believe about the future
matters today.
First and Second Peter were written to a
people who were saying Good Lord, its
morning. People who were struggling with
being faithful followers in a fallen world. So
Peters hope, as he writes to them and to us,
is that we would be spiritually refreshed at
hearing that there is an inheritance that is
imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept
(by God) in heaven for you. This was
intended to create a confidence that the
promised final outcome of our lives should
also be the rudder that guides us in our
present circumstances.
Jesus said I have said these things to you,
that in me you may have peace. In the world
you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have
overcome the world. (John 16:33), James
said, Count it all joy when you face trials of
various kinds. The key words in both verses
are: you will, and when you.
The trials that we face, and the trouble we
have, are not optional in the Christian life, but
essential. Opposition and trials give us the
opportunity to serve in the strength that God
suppliesin order that in everything God may
be glorified through Jesus Christ. (1 Peter
4:11) If we never faced anything bigger than
we are, then why would we turn to one who is
greater than we are?

Join us November 2nd, at 6:30pm, as we

discuss Advent, the Christmas season, as
well as updates on how our ministries are
performing.
Are you interested in serving in some
capacity in Christian Education? Join us - We
would love to have you listen in, no pressure,
but always an invitation to be a part of what
God is doing!

To turn to God and ask Him who is able to

intervene is our expression that we know that
Gods promises are sufficient for every
circumstance, both today and in the future. It
means we can truly do all things through
Christ who strengthens us (Philippians
4:10-13) with the knowledge that He has
already overcome the world.
Good morning, Lord!, says I am ready for
today because I know as Paul wrote to
Timothy, whom I have believed, and I am
convinced that he is able to guard until that
day what has been entrusted to me.
(2 Timothy 1:12)

Community Prayer Service

Thursday, October 27th,
at 7:00 pm,
Penn Station in Arthur, Illinois
Everyone is invited to a nondenominational Community
Prayer Service on Thursday
evening, October 27th, beginning
at 7:00 pm at Penn Station in
Arthur.
"Praying for Our Nation" will be
the theme for the evening of
prayer where people can come
to pray or be prayed for.
Participants will be praying
utilizing the word of God from
Nehemiah chapters 1, 2, and 12.
This time is being set aside to
remind us that in the midst of all
that is going on in our world
today, our hope is in Jesus
Christ, not any person or
politician. We will be praying for
world, national, state, and local
concerns. Participants are
welcome to come and go as your
schedule allows.
A group (including Pastor Jason
as he drives through from his
conference) is meeting at
Yoders for dinner at 5:30pm and
then going to the prayer meeting.
This week Pastor Jason will be
attending a conference from
Tuesday, October 25th, through
Friday, October 28th.
If you need anything please
contact your primary care Elder.

We believe that the mission of Jesus: To reach the world by

loving others in real practical ways is entirely possible.

We are at 32 boxes of diapers. Can we reach

our goal of over 40 boxes by November 6th?

Come walk, pray and make a

difference. We are meeting
every week, twice a week, through
November 6th.
Since September 28th, there have
been 399 lives saved by those of us
who have been walking, praying and
loving others!
Wednesday 12:00-1:00pm
Friday 5:00-6:00pm
