Part1
1. Incaseofanenginefailureorabnormalityonthetakeoffrollpriortorotation:retardthethrottletoidle,
maintaindirectionalcontrolwiththerudderandbringtheairplanetoastop.
2. Incaseofanenginefailureafterrotationwithrunwayremaining:retardthethrottle,maintain
directionalcontrolwiththerudder,landontheremainingrunway,andbringtheairplanetoastop.

1.Speed:
a.controlspeedanddirectionwithminimumpowerrequiredandrudderdonotridethebrakes.
b.speedshouldbeequivalenttoaslowwalkincongestedareas.
c.speedshouldbeequivalenttoafastwalkonopentaxiways.
2.Controls:positionforwinddirectionandvelocity.
3.Watchfortraffic(leftisclear,rightisclear)
NORMALTAKEOFF
1.Alignaircraftwiththecenterline(heelsontheground).
2.Positionaileronsasrequiredforthewind.
3.Applypowersmoothlyuntilmaxpowerisreached(withadequaterudderpressureasrequired).
4.Checkenginegaugestoensureindicationsareinthegreenandpoweroutputisatleast
2065rpm.
5.At55begintoapplybackpressuretorotateat60.
6.MakesmallpitchandtrimadjustmentsasnecessarytoachieveVx60(obstacles)orVy79(no
obstacles).
NORMALCLIMB
1.ContinueclimbatVy(79)oracceleratefromVx(60)toVy(79)onceobstaclesarecleared.
2.Maintainrunwayalignmentuntildepartureturnisinitiated.
3.At500feetAGLflapsup.
4.At700feetAGL(orhigher,dependingonnoiseabatementprocedures),makedepartureturn.
4.At1000feetAGL,lowerthenoseslightlyandretrimforcruiseclimbairspeed90100KIAS(ifdesired).
5.Watchfortraffic.
CRUISE
1. Afterachievingthedesiredcruisespeed,setpowerbetween20002400RPM(withinthegreenrange,no
morethan80%powerisrecommended).
2. Adjusttrimforlevelflight.
3. Leanmixtureasrequired.
4. Performcruisechecklist.
NORMALLANDING(maybeadjustedduetoalternatepatternentryprocedures,akabase/finalentry)
1. Performaprelandingcheckandensurepatternentryisatpatternaltitude,oratmidfieldifperforming
closedtrafficmultiplelandings.Setpowerto2000rpmandslowdownbeforetheturntodownwind.
2. Abeamthenumbersondownwind,reducepowerto1500rpm,setflapsto10degrees,slowto80knots
thenpitchdownandtrimforthatairspeed.Thedescentstartswithpoweralreadyat1500RPMandonce
theairplaneslowsto80knots.Onceat80knotspitchfor80knotsandtheairplanewillbegintodescend.
3. Turnbasewhenthenumbersare45degreesbetweenthefuselageandthewing,orwhentrafficpermits.
Onthebaseleg:
a.judgeforaltitudeandadjustpowerasneededtomaintaintheproperdescent.
b.setflapsto20degrees.
c.maintain70knots.
4. Onfinal:
a.adjustpowerasneededtomaintaintheproperdescent.
b.setflapsto30degrees.
c.maintain6570knots.

1. Simultaneouslyandsmoothlyapplyfullpower,rightrudder(inproportiontopower)andpitchtolevel
attitude.
2. Checkairspeed:Ifabove60initiateaclimb(pitchup).Ifbelow60keepflyinglevelingroundaffectto
accelerate.
3. Flapsverifyairspeedabove60knotsandpositiverateofclimb,retractflapsto20degrees,readjust
pitchforclimb.
4. FlapsverifyairspeedisatleastVx(60)andpositiverateofclimb,retractflapsto10degrees,readjust
pitchforclimb.
5. AirspeedclimbatVx(60)orVy(79)onceobstaclesarecleared.
6. At500feetAGL,flapsup.
