WOT 3 is released after successful beta test

A big thank you goes out to our beta testers for trying out WOT 3 before it
was released publically. The feedback and suggestions we received proved
to be invaluable, and because of you WOT 3 is even better.

The official release took place April 23 from the Web 2.0 Expo in San Fran-
cisco, CA. WOT got lots of positive attention, and one of the highlights was
an interview with our CEO, Esa, for a live streaming broadcast from Blogtro-
polus, the blogger’s lounge. As a result of all the meeting and greeting, you
may see some chatter about WOT in the blogosphere.

Scorecard improvements

how to improve the design and function of the new Website Reputation

leave comments.

The whole idea of people-driven security is for people to share informa-

tion about websites with each other, and unregistered users comments
were not visible to anyone except our admin team. So please take a min-
ute to register, and then start adding comments to the scorecards of your
favorite sites.

WOT on the Web

Tech Thoughts author Bill Mullins was the first to describe WOT as “people-driven security.”
Recently he tried out WOT 3, and using his clever way with words, he gave us a stellar re-
view. Don’t you love the way he describes the WOT warning screen as a “transparent warn-
ing curtain?” Read it here.

In the article “Keeping Safe on the Web: 8 Firefox Addons for Privacy and Safety”, author Dave Drager says
Mozilla’s Firefox is fast becoming mainstream, and is therefore open to browser exploits. His suggestion is
to install WOT, the “cream of the crop” in internet security. Read it here.

8falcons, an organization specializing in online safety for children, has produced a podcast interview with
Deborah . In their goal to educate parents, teachers, and children about online safety, 8falcons promotes
WOT as a core safety tool. Listen to the podcast.
