2016-2017
At the conclusion of a lockdown, clear directions will be given. There are three
probable outcomes after a lockdown.
1. We will return to a normal instructional day.
2. We will transition to Shelter in Place, which means that doors will remain
locked and we will resume a regular school day. Students will remain in the
building and recess will be indoors. Non-classroom staff will be asked to
assist by monitoring our entrances. No one should open a door for any
person, no matter the reason. Mrs. Magnuson will monitor the front entrance
and allow entrance to visitors as appropriate.
3. We will have Shelter in Place and implement our Parent Reunification plan.

PARENT REUNIFICATION PLAN

Listen for directions from the office. Remain calm.
For Parent Reunification, you will hear this announcement and follow the
directions provided:
Students and staff, we are in Shelter in Place. That means that doors will remain
locked and we will resume a regular school day. All students must remain indoors.
No one should open a door for any person, no matter the reason.
We are going to implement our Parent Reunification Plan at this time. Students will
stay in their classrooms with their teachers. We will lock the doors to our
instructional areas. All parents who come to Oak Ridge to pick up students will go
to the gym. Students who are being picked up to go home with parents will be
escorted from classrooms to the gym to go home.
At this time all students who are with specialists or support teachers should return
to their classrooms.

Paraprofessionals should remain with students. All other non-classroom staff should
report to the gym to assist with our Parent Reunification Plan.
Students, our school is very safe. Some parents may decide to pick their children
up early today, and some may not. Either way, its OK and we are safe. We are
going to continue learning, and I expect you to follow all directions from your
teachers.
