Course Description

This course deals with the study in areas of mechanics (Newtons laws, conservation laws and application of Newtonian Mechanics),
thermal physics (Thermodynamics) and waves.
3.

Course Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:

1. State and define the terminologies, concepts, laws and principles in the areas of mechanics, properties of matter, thermal physics

and waves.
2. Verbally, visually (pictures & graphs) and algebraically relate, discuss and explain the terminologies, concepts, laws and

principles in the areas of mechanics, properties of matter, thermal physics and waves.
3. Identify, assess & apply the concepts, laws and principles in the areas of mechanics, properties of matter, thermal physics and

waves to solve qualitative & quantitative problems visually, algebraically and numerically.
4. Relate theoretical knowledge to justify scientific investigations/experimental observations and make deductions in the areas of

mechanics, properties of matter, thermal physics and waves.
