Educational Rationale:
This is will be an introduction lesson to Tchoukball. Most students will have never played this sport before so it will be
important to explain where this game originated from and how old the game is. Students will explore Tchoukball by learning
about the history of the sport and being able to interoperate the rules of the game. Will need to assume students have never
thrown a Tchoukball (handball) and will need to be taught the basics of throwing and catching & positioning. This will be
lesson 1 of 3 to progress their skills so they are up to playing a game. Modifying the rules and progression of rules and skills is
really important in the learning stages of this game.
Learner Objectives:
1.
By the end of this lesson students will have a basic understanding of some of the rules of Tchoukball, no defending
pressure, positioning, how to score and the boundaries, three seconds & three steps with the ball.
2.
Students will become familiar with the ball used when playing the game and be comfortable throwing and catching it
3.
Student will be able to demonstrate the skills they have learnt throughout the lesson to the best of their ability.
Teacher Objectives:

Introduce the use of the whistle, when blown students must stop.
2.
Explain the background of Tchoukball & where the sport originated from, for how long has it been played for?

Aim to provide the best possible examples of demonstration when using the handball for throwing and catching

students will have never played this sport before so it will be important to remember it is all very new to them. Will need to
assume students have never thrown a Tchoukball (handball) and will need to be taught the basics of throwing and catching &
positioning. This will be lesson 2 of 3 to progress their skills so they are up to playing a game. Modifying the rules and
progression of rules and skills is really important in the learning stages of this game.
