*Without knowing these basics of this subjects, the university wants us to appear
advanced subjects in the new syllabus. This is unfair, and the old syllabus students will
always remain on the losing side throughout their career. No thought has been given
to old batch students while drafting the new syllabus. It is extremely cruel and surely
will destroy their careers by limiting opportunities.

Problems:
1)Image and video processing: A newly added subject in 7 th sem in new syllabus,
which depends upon discrete time signal processing. This subject is added in 6 th sem
in new syllabus. This subject will never be taught to the old syllabus students. As a
result they will never understand what this subject is about and are bound to fail in it.
2) Optical Communication networks: This subject is advancement of computer
communication and telecom networks subject added in 6 th sem for the new syllabus
students. This subject will never be taught to the old syllabus students as it is present
in 7th sem for old syllabus students.
3) Microwave and Radar Engineering:
A subject which has occurred for the old syllabus students in 6 th semester is added to
7th semester. The old syllabus students will be relearning this subject and it will be
waste of valuable time.
4) Elective(Elective subject depends upon availability and choice)
a) Neural networks and fuzzy logic: This subject has also been taught to the old
syllabus students in 6th sem. They will be taught this subject again.
b)Statistical signal Processing:
Another advanced subject based upon Discrete time signal processing subject, added
in 6th sem for new syllabus. This will never be taught to the old syllabus students if
admitted to the new course.
c)Analog and mixed signal VLSI:
A advanced course based upon VLSI design subject added in 6 th sem for new syllabus.
This subject was never taught to the old syllabus students.
** All of the final year courses are advanced courses based upon courses in earlier
semesters. But if a old syllabus student takes admission in the new course for 7 th sem,
he will be able to relate to only 2 subject, out of 9 available subjects(including
electives). Two of these 9 subjects have already been taught to the old syllabus
students.
Appearing in new syllabus will have a severe effect on the careers of the old syllabus
students. As they have to face concepts they have never been taught before. This will
make sure that there marks drop and high probability that they will never pass these
subjects. The new syllabus students will have the upper hand as they are well
acquainted with the basics of these newly introduced subjects.

Problems:
1) Wireless Networks 2) Satellite communication and networks 3) Internet and
Voice Communication 4)Telecom Network management:
All of these above subjects are about communication and networks. These are
advancement of computer communication and telecom networks subject
introduced in 6th sem for the old syllabus students, which has never been taught to
the old semester students.
2) Speech Processing- Subject depending upon discrete time signal processing
subject added in 6th sem for new syllabus. The old syllabus students will be at a

1) Internal assessment:
Mark distribution is converted to 80+20, as a result the college has 20 more
marks in its hand to give to its students. The college is liberal at giving these
marks.

Decrement of marks may result in failure to meet the cutoff criteria for various
companies. The old syllabus students are ill equipped to compete with students
of the new syllabus.
4) Easier for the previous batch to score due to blueprints
The new syllabus students are handed out blueprints for the theory exam paper, i.e
as a result they score easily in theory papers compared to the old syllabus.
5) change in subjects will result in breaking in coherence of the course
structure(Incomplete and Unharmonious Knowledge):
Addition of old syllabus students will not only decrese there marks but also will
make them incomplete engineers.
6) Lack of subjects of choice may lead lack of opportunity in field of choice:
A student wanting to pursue a career in vlsi design will never be able to do it,
due to shift of subjects from 7th sem to 6th sem.
7) Lesser marks will also affect applying for further studies, where the judgment is
made on the basis of comparison with the peers
8) No of subjects changed:
9) Adjusting to the credit based pattern will be very difficult as failing in a internal test
is considered as a KT. The old syllabus students are not used to this, but the new
syllabus students are well acquainted with it and thus can cope with it much easily.
Understanding new concepts added over three years of minor changes in each
subjects will also be impossible task for the new syllabus students. This will further
push the old syllabus students behind the new syllabus students.
