To Dismount .6arrel from Receiver, Proceed as Follows:

(see Plate
3) out of engage me nt with notch in barrel, then push clown
on the I a rrel cha ngi ng handle B making one-t hird of a t urn,
which wil l disengage barrel from segmental t hreads in re e1ver.
Now pull the barrel straight out towards t he front.

To Mount Barrel in Receiver, Proceed as Follows:

1. With t he rifl e held upri ht , e nter the barrel into t he hole in
the receiver un t il barrel fl a nge comes up again st face of receiver
(in doing thi pry the barrel lo kin g sprin g C o utwa rd s to a ll ow
fl ange of barrel to pass).
2. When barrel fl a nge omes up again t face of re eive r ,
grasp the barrel cha ngin g ha ndl e B which is attached to the
barrel a nd give o ne-third of a turn to t he barrel in a clock-wise
direction. Thi will a ll ow the barrel locking pring
to snap
into the notch in t he barrel, thus pr ventin g any circumferential
movement of t he barrel during firing.
3. Return bar A to po iLio n shown in Plate l making s ure
that ga cy lind er t ube (227B) and ' gas cy li nder tube bracket
(56B) e ngage, and rifle is ready fo r firing.
