In many trades, calculating slope is necessary in

order to ensure that designs meet building codes and
have structural integrity. For example, a contractor may
be asked to build a ramp to make a house wheelchair
accessible. Why would it be necessary to calculate the
correct slope for the wheelchair ramp?
Slope is a numerical value that indicates how steeply
something is slanted. You can calculate a numerical value
that indicates how much slope, or steepness, an object
has.
Slope is calculated by measuring the amount of
vertical change in distance, called the rise, and
comparing it to the amount of horizontal change in
distance, called the run.

Why m and not s. s is used to describe seconds

in math and science. m is used to describe slope.
