Software: Software is the term refers to the set of instruction
(also called programs) that will tell the hardware how to perform
a task. Without software instruction hardware doesnt know what
to do. There are two categories of software 1.System software
2.Application software.
System software programs are those that control the
operations and functions of computer. One of the most important
system software is operating system, the control program that
runs the computer. Other examples of system software are utility
programs, language translators device drivers etc.
Application software programs are those which enable us to
perform specific task such as solve problems perform work and
entertain you. An application program tells the computer how to
produce information. Some of the examples of application
software are: Word processing, spread sheets, entertainment
programs ( such as games multimedia application etc. ), Data
base.
