This article focuses on how educators can flip the classroom by using Web 2.0
technologies. According to Cummings (2016, Web 2.o0 technologies can g et the most
out of students by having them participate and be engaged in what is going on in the
classroom.

These types of technology can also assist students with writing and

collaborating in online spaces and with others. The article also focuses on STEM education
and how students are required to watch videos outside of the classroom and come in ready
to participate in the assigned lesson for the day. Cummings (2016) believes that Web 2.0
technology spaces let students move beyond the discussions with each other and allow for
asynchronous collaboration. The article also compares and contrasts Web 1.0 technologies
to Web 2.0 technologies. The use of Google in the classroom and detailed examples are
also focused on throughout. There is also a table that is provided According to Cummings
(2016), students will create their own knowledge when flipping a classroom. At the school I
work at I could see how flipping the classroom could be extremely beneficial especially for
certain content area teachers. I teach ELA, and I could definitely see the advantages of
flipping my classroom and using Google+. I think that students will and can get a lot more
out of their learning experience by having an effective teacher that implements technology
and makes the learning conducive and engaging for all types of learners.
