TheODIstudioisnotautomaticallydeployedsothatrequirestobeinstalledseparately.

IftheStudioisinstalledthenitcanbeconfiguredtopointtotheFDMdatabasewhichcontainsalltheODItables,theagent
willhavebeenautomaticallyconfiguredbytheEPMconfigurator.

ToupgradeEPMSystemproductstoRelease11.1.2.3,youinstallandconfigureRelease11.1.2.3
softwareinanewlocationandmoveapplicationsanddatatothenewdeploymentenvironment.
Therearetwosupportedscenarios:
InstallEPMSystemonanewmachineormachines.Youcaneitherreusetheexistingdatabase
anddata,orreplicatethedatabaseanddatatoanewmachine.Ifyouareupgradingtoanewmachine,
youmustupgradetoonewiththesameoperatingsystem.Forexample,iftheearlierreleasewasona
Windowsoperatingsystem,youmustupgradetoaWindowsoperatingsystem.IftheearlierreleasewasonaLinux
operating
system,youmustupgradetoaLinuxoperatingsystem.Withintheoperatingsystemconstraint,youcanswitch
between
versionsandeditionsoftheoperatingsystemaswellas32bitand64bitvariations.Forexample,youcanupgrade
from
32bitWindows2003to64bitWindows2008R2.
InstallEPMSystemontheexistingmachineormachines(Oraclerecommendsthatyou
installinanewinstallationlocation).Youcaneitherreusetheexistingdatabaseanddata,orreplicatethedatabase

Wearetryingtomoveour11.1.2.2runningonAIXto11.1.2.3byapplyingthemaintenancerelease.First,it
complainsaboutnotenoughdiskspaceforhomedirectory.Then,itcomplainsaboutinvalidcharacterindestination
directory.Wedon'thavetheproblemwith11.1.2.2.It'sjuststoppingusfromgoingfurther.
