Internship Opportunity as Communications Assistant

Whom are we looking for?


The GAN is looking for a Communications Assistant with knowledge of effective use of the web and social
media. The ideal candidate has academic and/or previous experience in Communications, especially in an
international environment, with a focus on web and social media development and execution, including use
of monitoring and management tools. Ideally, the candidate is proficient in English and has a working
knowledge of French or Spanish. Previous academic/work experience in international affairs, social sciences,
public-private partnerships is preferred.
As a Communications Assistant, the tasks will involve, but will not be limited to:

Maintaining, updating and further developing the GAN website


Widening GANs social media presence in reflection to the various projects, themes and regions that the
GAN is covering
Monitoring and researching the development of the global youth employment market and edit
communications materials accordingly
Managing and monitoring social media tools, web pages and adapting strategy to ensure engagement of
key stakeholders
Providing administrative support and assistance in outreach activities
Proofreading and translating documents and communications materials for various target audiences

Who we are?
The GAN is a business-driven coalition of committed companies and international organizations joining forces
to ensure skills for business and jobs for youth on a global and national scale. The GAN advocates for workbased training, shares best practices and facilitates multi-stakeholder dialogue. To date, companies such as
Adecco Group, Astra international, Gi Group, Ericsson, Huawei, Hilton Worldwide, IBM, MasterCard
Foundation, Nestl, Randstad, Samsung Electronics, Telefnica and UBS form part of the GAN and are
committing to action. The GAN was founded in late 2013 as a response from the G20 and B20 to the global
youth unemployment crisis.

The GAN is located within the offices of the International Organisation of Employers (IOE), the largest network
of the private sector in the world, with a membership of 150 business and employer federations in 144
countries. In social and labour policy debate taking place in the International Labour Organization (ILO),
across the UN, multilateral system, and in the G20 and other emerging processes, the IOE is the recognized
voice of business.
