I am requesting funding in the FY 2010 Energy and Water Development Appropriations

bill, Department of Energy, Biomass and Biorefinery Systems R&D account for the
Sustainable Energy Research Center (SERC), a continuing research program at
Mississippi State University, P.O. Box 9632, Mississippi Slate, MS 39762. It is my
understanding that funding would be used to continue the SERC Program with the goal of
developing new engineering and scientific knowledge and to serve as a catalyst to create
renewable transportation fuel industries in the Southeastern US. Renewable
transportation fuel platfonns under development by SERe include bio-oil, biocrude, and
syngas Lo gasoline. I certify that thi s project does not have a direct and foreseeable effect
on the pecuniary interests of my spouse or me.
I hereby certify that this request will be made publicly avai lab le on my official website as
required by Chaimlan Obey's new Committee policy that only posted requests will be
considered.
