TCP/IP Win 8

1. If you are using a PC, move the mouse cursor to the bottom or top
right corner of the screen and select the cog icon for Settings.
If you are using a tablet, swipe left from the right side of the screen
and select Settings.

2. Select Control Panel.

3. In the Control Panel window select Category and then


select Large or Small icons.

4. Select Network and Sharing Center.

5. Select Change adapter settings.

6. Right click on your connected network and select Properties.

7. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCIP/IPv4).


8. Select Properties.

9. Select Use the following IP address and Use the following DNS
server addresses to change your computer's IP address and/or DNS
server addresses.

10. Select OK to save.


Your computer should now be able to communicate with your network and the
Internet using the new settings..

TCP/IP Win 10
1. Click on Start button and choose Settings.

2. Choose Network & Internet.

3. Click on Ethernet Change adapter options. Select Ethernet, click right


mouse button and choose Properties.

4. Click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4), and then click Properties.


Check Obtain an IP address automatically, check Obtain DNS server
address automatically, and then click OK.

Apple Mac - remove fixed IP and proxy


settings
If your Mac has been used in an office, or advanced home network, you may need to
check for and remove any fixed IP, DNS or proxy settings. This guide shows you how.

Open Airport Network settings

1. Click the Apple icon in the top left of the menu bar
2. Click System Preferences

3. Click Network

4. Network will open - in the left you should see AirPort listed in the menu
5. Click to select AirPort (or Ethernet depending on the type of connection
you're using)

6. Click Advanced

Check TCP/IP settings


1. Click the TCP/IP tab
2. Check Configure IPv4 is set to Using DHCP
3. Check that no text is entered in DHCP Client ID
4. Check that Configure IPv6 is set to Automatically
5. Click Renew DHCP Lease - this will refresh the connection in case of
problems
6. Check that the IPv4 address starts 192.168.1.**

7. Check that the router address is 192.168.1.1

Check DNS settings


1. Click the DNS tab
2. Check that the DNS servers only contain 192.168.1.1 (or 192.168.0.1 if you're
using a Netgear router) - if any other Domains exist, highlight then click
minus -

Check proxies
1. Click on the Proxies tab
2. Remove any ticks in the check boxes under Select a protocol to configure
3. Check that Bypass proxy settings for these Hosts & Domains settings only
contain local, 169.254/16 (or that the field is blank)

4. Click OK, then if you've made any changes click Apply Now
5. On your keyboard, press Apple, and the letter Q to quit System Preferences
