What is ASEAN
Students Forum on
Human Rights?
As it well known that Thailand is now entering the ASEAN Community, ALSA
Chulalongkorn reecognize the importance of the aims and purposes of the ASEAN
Community. First, to accelerate the economic growth, social progress and cultural
development in the region through joint endeavors in the spirit of equality and
partnership in order to strengthen the foundation for a prosperous and peaceful
community of Southeast Asian nations. Second, to promote regional peace and stability
through abiding respect for justice and the rule of law in the relationship among
countries in the region and adherence to the principles of the United Nations Charter.
The ASEAN Heads of the State and Government reaffirmed that Cooperative peace
and shared prosperity shall be fundamental goals of ASEAN.
There will take two activities, the academic program and non academic program.
The academic program is primary one of the main focus of this forum. It encompasses
activities involving table discussion, symposium, Model United Nations, which are
aimed at improving the capabilities of delegates to become internationally minded,
socially responsible, and academically committed. Also through academic programs, it is
hoped that participants will be able to share and exchange ideas concerning human
rights situations in their society.
For the non academics program, the purpose of which is to build up friendship
between ASEAN students. As we together recall of the time ASEAN was formed
decades ago by people deriving from different nations, ethnicity, and cultural
backgrounds. It encompasses activities involving cultural night, amazing race,
volunteering/social service, and farewell dinner. So, this is a great opportunity for the
students to share their knowledge and understanding of legal issues, society, culture and
traditions, including opportunities to meet foreign friends.

How does the

terms of payment?

There will be memorandum of Understanding between the organizing

committee of Unversitas Gadjah Madas delegate for ASEAN Students
Forum on Human Rights 2015 and company which agree to be sponsors,
about how to conduct the payment and related

In general, companies which agree in becoming sponsors should pay at

least 75% of the total value of chosen sponsorship package before at least
D-5. While in the rest amount of total value of chosen sponsorship
package should be paid after the D+7.

Profil Delegate
Diana Puspita Asri (21) is a fourth year student of Politics and
Government Department at Universitas Gadjah Mada. She has
strong interest in politics, social, and humanitarian issues. In
2012, she become a founder of Organization of Humanity wich
has concern in human rights issues. In 2013, she and few
friends also established Untuk Papua Community that has
concern to building education in Papua. More than 100
Indonesian youth be the volunteers. Finally, last July until
September she lived in Papua to done their projects. She also take a role in some
organizations, such as Student Executive Council at University, Student Legislative
Council at Faculty, and Scandinavian Community. Besides, she is a good public speaker.
She is a selected master ceremony for Universitas Gadjah Mada graduation ceremony.
For public speaking experiences, she become presenter of Lensa Mahasiswa show, host
of Berani Jadi Miliarder for reality show on MetroTV, Final Audition of News Presenter
on TVRI, Master of Ceremony for Dialog Kebangsaan, and many more. Moreover, due
to her outstanding GPA, since 2011 she has becoming PPA (Peningkatan Prestasi
Akademik) scholarship receiver.
