Wang Ji Wu and the lineage
of his Xing Yi Quan

Wang Ji Wu (£ Ait X), who was also known as Wang Zhong Gao (£4 4%), was
a native of Shanxi Province, Yu Ci County, Dong Shan Village. He was born in
1891. His grandfather was a famous Chinese doctor and was considered
incorruptible. Likewise, Wang's father was charitable and enthusiastically acted
for the good of the community. In his youth, Wang Ji Wu studied in the village
school and wasa gifted student. He had a natural love of martial arts and studied
what he could with the martial artists of his village. He was a student by day and
the watchman of a gourd patch at night, which left plenty of time for martial arts
practice while at work. During a lifetime of study, Wang became an expert of
martial arts (including qi gong- #4) and Chinese Medicine (including osteopathy).
Because of his deep understanding of both the martial and medical arts, his level
of attainment in both was very high. He led a stable life, placing justice above
material gains, and took pleasure
in helping others. Because of
this, he was much respected and
admired by his friendsand family.

At sixteen years of age, Wang
Ji Wu moved to the city of Tai
Yuan in Shanxi Province to
apprentice in business. Here,
when he was eighteen years of
age, he was introduced to Wang
Fu Yuan (4 4%), a top student
of the famed Xing Yi Quan master
Liu Qi Lan (84% i).
Xing Yi Quan (# & 4) was
cteated at the end of the Ming
Dynasty by Ji Long Feng (48 &
- also known as Ji Ji Ke - 48%)
of Shanxi Province. In succeeding
Zenerations the art spread
throughout Shanxi, Hebei, and
Henan provinces and
subsequently to the rest of the
