10.3.4.2 Recommendations - Bicsi

It is recommended that consideration be given to further improve of the cooling
system performance by using modular CRAC units, cold or hot aisle containment,
or a combination of the two techniques. Such measures will stop hot air
contaminating the expensive processed cold air and improve the environment for the
remainder of the computer room space. However, a hot air return plenum may
require the use of cabinet exhaust chimneys and greater cabinet depth.

Inrack compared to Inrow:
Total width for InRow 900mm

(300mm+600mm)
Total width for InRack 800mm
Example: 8 cabinets:
8x900mm=7.2M - InRow
8x800mm=6.4M - InRack
7.2M-6.4M=0.8M=800mm

COLOCATION CABINETS Cost FootPrint

Save money: by offering the needed 10U or 15U without losing ALL 42U space.
Increase revenue up to 400%: using colocation cabinet will help ISP to avoid losing the free Us space inside

42U cabinet offered for clients that need only 10U or 15U! ISP can now increase revenue by having 3 or 4
clients in the same space of 42U instead of having only one client with 10U or 15U need!
Cutting cost: by having colocation cabinet; ISP will insure facility cost (power, cooling etc.) per cabinet will be
utilized in the best way in term of cost which means save the PUE calculation.
