Mindfulness for Anxiety and Depression

CPD Event
On 20th June 2015, the College of Cognitive Behavioural Therapies
(www.cbttherapies.org.uk ) holding a one-day workshop in Sheffiel on Mindfulness with
Anxiety and Depression. With the latest research indicating that 1 in 5 people are suffering
from either anxiety or depression or a combination of the two it is important to have the
most up to date skills at your disposal when working with these clients.
Beverley Harper, Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and senior lecturer at CCBT will
lead this experiential workshop which focuses on practical skills to enable you to integrate
mindfulness into your work with clients using the model of psychological health developed
by the grandfather of CBT, Alert Ellis. You will learn the latest mindfulness approaches
together with how and when to integrate them into the psychological model, which
underpins all our teaching at CCBT strategies.
This workshop will be held at CCBT Sheffield. Registration is at 9.30 pm, start at
10.00am and will finish at 5.30pm.

The cognitive and behavioural characteristics of anxiety and depression

How to use psychological education to help your clients understand the benefits of
mindfulness to combat anxiety and depression

How to effectively teach your clients Mindfulness

How to integrate Mindfulness approaches into your practice

How to use Mindfulness as an adjunct to REBT

Various key Mindfulness Approaches

A session by session approach

It is aimed at hypnotherapists, counsellors, psychotherapists and health workers who have


to deal with this problem.
COST & BOOKING INFO: 105.00, includes tea, coffee and biscuits. Places are limited, and
allocated on a first come, first served basis.

The workshop will be run by Beverley Harper, who is a practising Cognitive Behavioural Therapist
and Hypnotherapist and Lecturer for CCBT. She has an MSc in RECBT from Goldsmiths College, University
of London and runs private practices in Central and Southwest London. She is also CCBT Course Director
for Bath.
