Given a client and/or the family members in a community, the students

are expected to apply their knowledge, skills and attitude in performing
nursing procedures by utilizing the Bag Technique.
STUDENT COMPETENCY

SKILLS
1. Politely greets and introduces self

procedure in a manner that the client

3. Places bag on a table or any flat
surface lined with a cloth or paper
lining with the straps underneath.
4. Checks contents of bag for:
a. Completeness
b. Arrangement according to use
c. Safety and functionality
d. Expiration date of solutions
e. Sterility of equipments (e.g.
Delivery set)
5. Opens the bag properly and sets
up clean working area:
a. Places clean paper or plastic
lining over working area with folded
part out (clean side)
b. Places soap and towel on one
corner of working area.
6. Solicits cooperation of client or
family member in assisting with
proper hand washing outside working
area.
7. Puts on apron wrong side against
