Using Excel to Calculate Binomial Distributions

This example will walk you through the Excel functions available to perform binomial
distribution calculations.
65 percent of families in Green County own pets. If a sample group of 20 households is
surveyed, what is the likelihood that:
1) At least 7 will own a pet?
n = 20

p = .65

x=7

=1-BINOMDIST(7,20,0.65,TRUE) = .9940

2) Exactly 12 will own a pet?

n = 20

p = .65

x=7

=BINOMDIST(12,20,0.65,TRUE) = .1614

3) Exactly 9 will not own a pet?

Reword this one to be similar to #2. Exactly 11 will own a pet. Then solve
using the same process as #2.
=BINOMDIST(11,20,0.65,TRUE) = .1158
