HEART

I would like to begin this paper by saying thank you to everyone who
has been praying for my health. What a wonderful feeling to hear and know that
people are busy talking to God about you when you, are going through health
problems. I had my first heart attack twelve years ago and it didnt look like there
was any way I would live at that time. BUT GOD had other ideas. After being
told to go home and put my house in order, God sent a doctor who felt he could
help and after a six-bypass surgery, I was back on my feet. A few years later I
had another heart attack that left my heart working at 10% and that is where I
have been living for some years now. Last month, my defibrillator went off three
times and Gloria rushed me to the doctor. They used the life support paddles and
worked for twenty-four hours attempting to get my heartbeat to steady out. I am
on a medicine that is keeping my heart working now. On top of my heart problems, I began having either gout or rheumatoid arthritis in January that made me
almost immobile. It just didnt look good for me!

BUT GOD showed mercy! I dont know about tomorrow, but today, after one month, I am back to almost normal days. God doesnt owe me mercy, but
it sure is sweet when He chooses to give mercy. We never know when sickness
strikes if we will remain or depart, but as Christians we know God will be there
to see us through. I am ready to depart, but I treasure every day God gives me to
serve Him and enjoy my loved ones. As long as He leaves me, I will praise Him
and live every moment to the fullest!

While this fleshly heart determines whether I live or die, my spiritual
heart also determines my spiritual life! Taking care of my spiritual heart should
be my FIRST priority. How about your spiritual heart?

(Continued from page 1)

When I went down with my heart, the condition of my spirit was the
most important thing of my life. If I had a wounded spirit, my spirit would not
have been prepared to help me in this time of need. Your spirit will sustain your
infirmities if your spirit is healthy.
Rom 8:26-27
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should
pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because
he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
Prov 18:14
The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity; but a wounded spirit who can bear?

We are told in John that those who worship God must worship Him in
spirit and in truth. Keeping a right spirit between you and God is the most important thing in life. The Bible says the heart is desperately wicked, who can know
it. I cannot abuse my body and expect my heart to survive. Likewise, I cannot
defile my spirit and keep a healthy heart relationship between me and God. After
having come so close to death four times now, I am very protective of my heart.
The truth is, I must be even more protective of my spiritual heart. No man lives
in the flesh forever! Dont we want to get the best out of life? A clean heart and
a clean spirit bring abundant living!

WHAT A WORD CAN DO!

A careless word may kindle strife.
A cruel word may wreck a life.
A timely word may lessen stress.
A loving word may heal and bless.
Psalm 41:9
Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which
did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.

Ps 19:7-11
The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is
sure, making wise the simple.
The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the
Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.
The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the Lord are
true and righteous altogether.
More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also
than honey and the honeycomb.
Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great
reward.

While we live, we should keep these six things before us at all times; the
law of the Lord, the testimony of the Lord, the statutes of the Lord, the commandments of the Lord, the fear of the Lord and the judgments of the Lord. Our soul
will be converted, we will be wise, we will be rejoicing, we will be pure, we will
be clean and righteous altogether. THATs GOOD LIVING!

TID BITS MONTHLY

REPORT

Life never gets dull for the believer. Every day is an adventure. Old age
is just as much an adventure as youth; you just dont have as much strength to put
into it!

We hear on a regular basis that Tid Bits has blessed someones life. That
warms our hearts in a very special way. If we can make your burden lighter or
your life easier, then we feel used of God. Dr. John R. Rice taught his children
to share what the Lord revealed to them for their lives. He would say, Do you
think God just gave that to you? He wants you to share with others. He taught
his daughters to write. Oh, if only we can share the things that have blessed us
with others, it would make our day.

You know from the paper that I faced death once again on the 30th of
July. Once again God said, Not yet! so we go on by His grace and His mercy
with a grateful heart.

As you know we have gone to publishing the paper every two months. It
is costing a months support to print the paper and a months support to mail the
paper. Unless our support doubles we will need to stay with every two months.
If you have been blessed and are able to share with us, we would appreciate your
support. But, if you cannot help financially, please enjoy this paper. You are the
reason we are printing it.

Faithfulness is not often seen today in the lives of people. In our churches there are just a few of the members who carry the burden of the upkeep of the
church. We want to say to our faithful supporters how much we appreciate the
fact that we can depend on you. We have about 10 supporters that we can know
just about what day their gift will come because they faithfully give. You are so
much a part of this work. Thank you!!!

Wonderful Word Publishers has been printing for over 50 years now. We
never got to know Bro. Dick Cimino but we knew and loved Mrs. Rose Cimino
and their son David Cimino. Mrs. Connie (Bro. Davids wife) is still carrying on
the tract ministry and we are attempting to carry on the monthly paper. Getting
the Word of God to the lost and encouraging believers is a much needed work
among the church. We love our part in the body of Christ and appreciate your
part (wherever that might be) in the body of Christ. What a family we have in
Christ! When we meet another believer, we feel as if we have known them all our
lives. May God bless you in your work.

PAULINE BECK COLLINGS

90th Birthday, October 6, 2016

I am sending this gift in honor of my
mother, Pauline Beck Collings, who turns 90
years of age this October 6th. Currently she is
living in Renaissance Care Center in Gainesville, Texas. She is known by all as a prayer
warrior and the residents at the home come to
her for their prayers.

My mother is the second cousin of Gloria Brewster. She is the niece of
Glorias Granny Beck. Granny Beck was very influential in my mother becoming a Christian. My mother remembers wanting a change in her life due to the
prayers of Granny Beck and the way she lived her life. She started going to
church and was saved at the age of 26. She is dearly loved by her family and all
who know her.
Daughter: Sandra Prather
Dear Gloria,

It was such a pleasure to talk with you yesterday and I was so happy to
hear that Jerry is home and doing so much better. As I told you, I am enclosing
my check as a donation to Tid Bits in honor of my sister, Pauline Collings 90th
birthday. She is and has always been such a wonderful inspiration to me. She is
a lady who will be forever young. Sister: Barbara Strickland

With pleasure I honor my Aunt Paulines 90th birthday. There is no question from
anyone who knows her that the Lord is the light
of her life. We have spent many hours talking
about Gods Word and sharing His works in our
lives. Aunt Pauline is a relative that works like
spiritual fuel to your life when you are around
her. My Grandmother Beck took time to love
her and lead her to Christ and she has blessed
many lives because of it. Question? How will
your family remember you? Get busy; make a
difference!

Phil 4:10-14

But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me hath flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked opportunity.
Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am,
therewith to be content.
I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in
all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to
suffer need.
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Notwithstanding ye have well done, that ye did communicate with my affliction.

We have been asked over and over to share the way in which God has
taken care of us during Jerrys sickness. We are sharing this with you to show
how God cares about His children and the way in which He provides for them.
This is not an appeal for money, but a desire to encourage you to trust our loving
God for your daily needs.

I brought Jerry home from the hospital on a Tuesday. He was very weak
and unable to walk without pain. Not only were we working with his heart but
he had either gout or rheumatoid arthritis. He struggled with this since January
of this year and it had already robbed him of much strength. My son and I went
to pick up his much needed medicine and it was $191. If you take medicine that
might not sound like much to you, but we were not prepared for this and I put
the charge on my credit card. For 30 years Jerry and I have not charged anything
on our card that we did not have the money for. We committed to living only on
what God gave us daily. I charged it and said, Lord, help, I dont know what
else to do. The next day we received a gift of $200 which was mailed before
we had the need! We had many visitors because people love Jerry and wanted to
come see him. I needed money for food and the second day we received a gift of
$100 which I spent on food. The next day we received a gift for $1,000. Jerry
and I lost our breath and said, What need are we going to have that will take this
much money? That day we found we had a major water leak which had been
running for almost a month already. It looked like it might take $1500 to fix it.
That Sunday a sweet man at the church shook hands with Jerry and said, God

feeling of security to those in the house. The Bible says, love never fails. True
love will touch those you serve and it will do the work you set out to do. Now
those you serve may or may not respond right to your love, but you can count on
love doing the job right. Love is the fulfilling of the law and by fulfilling the law
you will not be guilty of wrong!

I can hear you saying now, Oh I love my husband and children! Really! How do you talk to them when they have angered or disappointed you? We
often are more patient with strangers on the street than we are with our family.
Love is a full time job. It must be a way of life and not just something we do
when we are feeling good. If you love someone, you only speak words that will
help their lives, not hurt their lives. If we love them, we will not join them in sin.
To the husband, we are to submit to his leadership in every area of the home, but
we are not to submit to evil. If he chooses to be evil, then you must refrain and
leave him to walk alone. Dont attempt to be his judge at this time. Just differ
and continue to honor his position in the home. If your children choose to sin
against God, then you must take a bold stand for Gods Word and not surrender
your stand for Gods Word. Love is living a life that is godly! In other words,
Act and think like God!

Women are to be discreet. That is, to be careful and not causing offense. She is to be chaste. That means to be clean and innocent (blameless) in
actions. She is to be a keeper at home. She manages or looks after the home.
It is a womans job to maintain the home! What do our homes look like today!
There doesnt seem to be anybody in charge any more. Our homes are falling
apart because mother is not at home any more; she is outside taking care of who
she is! GO HOME! Home is your greatest work and your greatest reward. She
is to be good. If she is good she will be desired or approved of in the home.
Everyone loves a good person. Last but not least she is to be obedient to her
own husband. We live in a day when no one has a proper respect for authority.
Women have always struggled with this and when the world is not honoring our
authorities it makes it even easier for women to not honor their husbands place
in our homes. Man did not make himself the head of the home, God did; and God
said He was in charge of man. Man is only Gods minister to us. To dishonor
man is to dishonor God! Obey God and He will take care of you.

We have a wonderful place in creation. Make sure you are not blaspheming Gods wonderful Word!!! We were created to help the needs of mankind.
We must study and learn to live love the way God loves us if we are to be a help.
Wake up! Dont allow Satan to use your life to destroy mankind. Yield yourself
to God and let Him work through you to bless mankind and make a difference.
The day is almost over and night is coming. Place yourself in Gods hands and
see just how it will use you to make a difference.

told me to give this to you this morning. It was $500.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO

BLASPHEME?

Im sure if you are a Christian your first thought is, you would not want
to be accused of blaspheming. Well, as a woman, if we are not living the life
Christ told us to live we are blaspheming the Word of God. Thats what Paul says
in Titus 2:3-5.

To blaspheme is to take the name of the Lord in vain! To blaspheme is to
poke holes in the Word of God. It is vain to say you believe something and then
not live it. Just claiming Christianity will not improve your life. You must live
what you believe.

As I was preparing to write this article I was also preparing to teach a
ladys seminar when I read Titus 2:3-5. I was reminded of what Paul said I should
teach ladies. Please read these verses.

It reads, the aged women (and I really do fit that description) are to teach
young women to be sober! We live in a drunken society. Its either drink or
drugs, but nobody wants to remain alert anymore. We must not over indulge
ourselves in this life. We must work at being balanced in every thing we do. The
scripture tells us to gird up our minds. Keep a straight head on our shoulders. In
other words dont run from your life, conquer it!

Then we aged women are to teach young women how to LOVE your
husband and children. This is the most absent thing in our homes today and I
believe the wife and mother of the home is accountable for the lack of love in the
home. We set the spirit of the home. Youve heard, If mother aint happy, aint
nobody happy! Godly love (and God is love) warms the home and brings a

Our son Joseph and an 80 year old friend worked on our leak. Our son
Tom and two other friends helped dig also. Jerry sat in the house and grieved
because he couldnt do the work. He has always repaired our problems and it was
very hard on him to watch others do his work. It turned out that we did not have
to dig up the concrete as we had thought we would and it ended up (because of
loved ones) not costing what we expected. I had prayed for some money for our
56th anniversary trip a few weeks earlier and the excess money was sufficient for
the trip. Two precious friends of ours gave us a weeks paid vacation and all we
had to do was pay for our food and daily needs. The four of us had a wonderful
time sharing our lives together that week.

While money was very tight, three nights in a row people took us out
for supper. God worked overtime watching over us. Little things like a parking
place at the door when Jerry was too weak to walk. Things like the parking lot at
the hospital was not working all the time he was there. That saved us, our family
and our friends $7 every time we came or went to the hospital. The first week
Jerry was home from the hospital we received $60, $200, $80, $20, $90, $100 and
$20. All total we received $2,260 that week. People, we dont receive gifts every
day of our lives. This was unique and miraculous. We had great needs and God
gave great deliverance.

You know that the scripture says all things work together for good to
those who love the Lord and are called according to His purposes. Well, just
before leaving on our vacation, we had to put a catalytic converter on our car. We
had been told it would be around $400. We had put it off for a long time, but the
time had come we could go no further. It was $260 not $400 and on the trip we
got double gas mileage out of the car. Gods timing! We also were given a 2000
Buick that had been sitting for two years. It looks like it will be a great car and
will get even better gas mileage.

While all this was going on, Jerry was still struggling with lack of
strength. The doctor told him most men with his condition were either in the bed
or a coffin. He said it was a miracle that he was on his feet! Two weeks before
our trip God gave Jerry back a lot of his strength and we had a great time.

After God had met our needs and we had a extra few dollars, we went
to a new place to eat lunch. We didnt know anyone there. When we finished
a man came and put his arm on Jerrys shoulder and said, God told me to tell
you He loves you, and after he left, we discovered he had bought our lunch. He
didnt know us from Adam. It was just one more love pat from our loving God.
TRUST AND OBEY FOR THERES NO OTHER WAY!

America heads for the polls in November. Our country is on

the verge of departing from everything she fought for to become a free
people. This election is crucial to our freedoms that we have so enjoyed. We only have two actions that we can use to put our two cents
worth in, and that is to vote and to pray. We must do both!

Vote for the one who says they will do what we believe America
needs. Will they do what they say? We dont know what either one
will end up doing when and if they get the office. This most certainly
is not a day that we can put our trust in man or woman. Vote for your
beliefs and seek Gods face for mercy to our country. The bottom line
is that GOD IS IN CONTROL of mankind.
Dan 4:33-35
The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven
from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven,
till his hairs were grown like eagles feathers, and his nails like birds claws.
And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and
mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised
and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion,
and his kingdom is from generation to generation:
And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and
none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?
