2016 Animal Bill of Rights Essay
Millions of animals today are either being abused, neglected, or slaughtered for the
happiness of society. Each and every day, animals go from being loved, to being more loved. The
type of love that is this beef is delicious or wow, this bacon is crispy. Honestly, animals do
acquire a Bill of Rights. Every person in this society is established under a bill that preserves
their rights. Animals, in a matter of fact, have nothing that can preserve them. A Bill of Rights for
animals will preserve them from being slaughtered, abused, etc. If humans arent slaughtered and
abused the way animals are, then why does it give every right for an animal to be managed in
that way? If humans can consume animals for protein, why dont animals consume humans for
protein? This is because humans have a Bill of Rights that preserves them from anything
dreadful like that proceeding. It is secure to say that animals need a Bill of Rights because they
are living things (as well as humans), they deserve better, and because it is essentially not
mandatory.
Consequently, animals are living. Yes, they breathe, they breathe just like typical people.
They acquire oxygen and air, just like typical people. Animals are just as smart as humans, they
arent air headed for crying out loud. Animals proportion the same atmosphere and sun as people
do. They both have ears, legs, arms, heads, and most importantly, a heart. A Bill of Rights should
be passed in order to preserve these animals. Just like humans are protected, animals deserve the
same treatment. As a matter of fact, animals are way more intelligent have had spicier traits than

Kopti 2
humans. Birds see better than us, dogs smell better, and many animals have senses that we do
not have at all (Listverse 1). The list from there goes on and on. Every type of creature has a
certain unique characterization, just like a human. There is no chance that everybody on this
plant is the same person, nor is every animal on this planet the same animal. More importantly,
animals have emotions, just like humans. According to Jonathan Balcombe, from the Human
Society Institute for Science and Policy, animals do have feelings. He went out and experienced
it himself and wrote an article to show people that they do have emotion. I scratch between their
horns, caress their faces and vigorously swipe my hand down their backs and flanks. They
become noticeably more relaxed (Balcombe 1). Have you ever pet an animal and all they do is
beg for more? Have you ever pet a cat and heard them purr? Well, that is a sign that you are
doing something right and triggering their emotions. Reading along further with the fact that
animals do have emotions, it it also certain that they would prefer if they got some love, not hate.
Watching these animals pursue their wants and needs reminds me that they are individuals with
intentions and preferences. Their lives matter to them (Balcombe 1). Animals have the capacity
to feel. They can feel negative and positive emotions, just like humans. Animals only attack
because they feel negative emotions from whoever is encountering them. A human, for example,
would attack if they feel any negative emotion from another encounter. As for a cop would shoot
if he/she feels threatened. Now, the big situation is that it does not make sense that animals are
being killed for no reason, they didn't do anything, so what exactly is the deal?
Furthermore, people for this argument that animals should have a Bill of Rights would
believe that they certainly deserve better than how they are treated. Animals love attention; yes,
humans do give animals attention, but they end up slaughtering them. Where do you think that
crispy, mouth watering bacon from this morning's breakfast came from? Where do you think that

Kopti 3
grilled, well-done beef patty came from? It is certain that humans are not being slaughtered and
eaten. Yes, animals are eaten for a human's protein, but why arent animals eating humans for
protein? It is sure that there should be some kind of alternative for people to consume protein.
On todays factory farms, animals are crammed by the thousands into filthy, windowless sheds
and stuffed into wire cages, metal crates, and other torturous devices (Peta 1). If one does not
think that the idea of torturing a sweet, innocent animal is erroneous, than by all means, stop
reading now. Tormentation includes: small spaces, antibiotics, the process of genetically
manipulating, poor care (throwing, beating), etc. Animals should have the right to have an
animals Bill of Rights to protect their rights as being animals. The Animal Bill of Rights
encourages representatives to pass legislation that protects animals and gives them the rights they
deserve (Molider 1). Animals are living, therefore they deserve rights. Every living thing should
have the right to everything. Putting the information about the Bill of Rights for animals
everywhere will sure people to really push this subject. Animals need to live lives as humans.
These animals will never raise their families, root around in the soil, build nests, or do anything
that is natural and important to them (Peta 1). Basically, animals are here for no reason than to
be treated with such disrespect. Animals do not get the chance to live their full lifespan. They do
not get to have a family and enjoy their lives. Animals are brought here to enjoy their lives, just
like humans. There is no possible reason to torture something that shares the same characteristics
as humans.
Therefore lastly, it is flat out unnecessary to go forth with these actions. It is not a priority
to take action and kill animals. It is chosen for no apparent reason. There are plenty of foods out
there that taste wonderful. With all the delicious pastas, fruits, vegetables and grains that are
cheaply available everywhere, there is no reason to kill animals to survive (Johnson 1). Hunters

Kopti 4
choose to hunt, it is not something that encourages them to do it. Its by choice and these choices
will be covered completely if a Bill of Rights was passed for animals. There is also a further
thing people can do in order to stop hunting in their areas. To combat hunting in your area, post
no hunting signs on your land, join or form an anti-hunting organization, protest organized
hunts, and spread deer repellent or human hair (from barber shops) near hunting areas (Johnson
1). Posting these signs will let hunters know not to take their unnecessary sport on in that
particular area. People want to make sure the animals are safe and not getting hunted down for
no reason. Its sad to think that the deer, for example, that was shot from a hunter was possibly
on his/her way to get resources for their newborn. Now their newborn is left to survive on its
own. This is completely not right. People do not know the background of the animal they are
shooting, so why do it? Its unnecessary to eat animals. There is an event in China, pretty sure its
a cultural event, but they kill innocent dogs and eat them. If a Bill of Rights for animals was
passed, then that may make China mad. It is part of their country and their culture. They may
think that we are the hurtful ones because we eat chicken and beef, but they eat that as well,
correct? Vegetarians are going to be for this argument. Vegetarians basically do not eat animals
because they believe it is wrong. In Jeremy Rifkins article A Change of Heart about Animals,
he talks about the study of pigs and how they react to things. Currently, in Germany, the
government is encouraging pig farmers to dedicate at least twenty second to each pig with
human contact and provide them with toys to prevent them from fighting. Pigs are then
slaughtered. It is not right to give animals attention, raise them right, and then kill them. Why not
kill them in the first place? Animals have feelings as well as humans and that is not fair. It is
unnecessary for these actions and something must take place in order to stop it.
In conclusion, it is safe to say that animals need a Bill of Rights because it is unnecessary

Kopti 5
to kill, animals deserve better, and animals are living things. As well as humans. animals need a
Bill of Rights because the people of the United States have a Bill of Rights that protect their
rights. Animals have nothing pertaining to their rights and people have every right to treat
animals the way they would like. There is no saying anywhere that animals have moral rights.
Having a Bill of Rights for animals will protect their rights. Everyday, innocent animals are
being neglected, abused, and slaughtered. If animals dont have rights, then why do we?
