How To Receive The Holy Spirit

October 2-October 8

Father God,
Thank you for loving me and taking care of me. Bless my church, Pastor Ron and
his family. Bless my teachers for teaching me Your Word. I believe your love is
flowing through me to other people. Help me to obey my parents so things will go
well with me and I will live a long life on the earth. I will tell how great You are and
how much I love You. I thank You that by Jesus stripes I am healed in my body and
my soul.
In Jesus name, Amen

I am filled with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in

tongues.
Acts 2:4
I recieve the Gifts of Revelation by the power of the Holy Spirit.
I Corinthians 12:7
I pray in the power of the Holy Ghost.
Jude vs. 20

Speaking with other tongues is the evidence of the filling of the Holy
Spirit.

Acts 2:4, And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to
speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.

In the Old Testament only prophets and priests had the power of the Holy
Spirit on them. It is because Jesus had not yet been born. Once Jesus lived a
sinless life on earth and took the punishment for all sin, He showed His power
over sin and death by raising from the grave.
For forty days He walked among believers and He told them as He left them
for the last time, that His Father would send a Comforter who would be with
them forever, the Holy Spirit. He told them that the Holy Spirit would come
to them on the Day of Pentecost. When they were together praying and waiting in the Upper Room in Jerusalem, they had no idea what it would look like,
sound like, or feel like for the Holy Spirit to come upon them.
John the Baptist had once said that the Holy Spirit was going to baptize
believers with fire. He was speaking of the way the Holy Spirit would purify
the spirits of believers and give them the boldness to stand against the evil
plans of the enemy, Satan. When the Holy Spirit came into the Upper Room
all 120 believers who had been waiting for Him received the baptism and they
described it as tongues of fire that sat on their heads; probably because of the
way John the Baptist had prophesied about it. They also all began to speak in
tongues, a language they didnt know.
God wants all believers to have the baptism of the Holy Spirit and to speak in
tongues which is the evidence that you have been filled with the Holy Spirit to
overflowing. No one can teach you to speak in tongues as it is not a language
that you learn. It happens when you ask God to fill you with His Spirit. Then
you let Holy Spirit start speaking and He uses your voice to declare Gods
special plans. Even though we dont understand what we are saying we trust
Holy Spirit as He gives us the words to say inside our hearts.
Satan does not understand this holy language and will tell you that it is not the
Holy Spirit but jibber-ash. We know God is a good Father and He promises
that if we ask for the Holy Spirit, He will give us this powerful tool to know
our Father better and make our spirit man stronger.
