This symposium has been planned to offer the


practicing pediatrician an opportunity to learn about
recent advances and state-of-the-art diagnoses
and therapy for common problems encountered in
daily practice. At the completion of this symposium,
pediatricians and other pediatric health care
professionals will have enhanced their skills and
competence in patient care, medical knowledge,
interpersonal and communication skills and systemsbased practice.

Abstracts should follow standard format:
Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Assess hearing loss in pediatric patients and
develop a management plan

Identify patients who need neurosurgical


intervention

Develop management plans in pediatric practice


using evidence based decision-making skills

Design adolescent care plans in pediatric


practice

Integrate current best practice guidelines in


developmental/behavioral medicine and ADHD
into pediatric practice

Identify anaphylaxis/allergy signs and symptoms


and formulate evidence-based treatment plans

Describe the concepts in common pediatric


orthopedic/sports care in a pediatric practice

Authors will be notified of acceptance for poster


presentation or oral presentation by August 5, 2016.

Professionals are encouraged to submit.
Abstract submission deadline is July 1, 2016.
Abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific
Meeting Committee. The top 3 abstracts will be
selected by the Scientific Meeting Committee
for oral presentation on Saturday, September 17,
2016. All accepted abstracts will be on display as
poster presentations starting the morning of Friday
September 16, 2016.

The 49th Annual SEPCS Conference will provide an
overview of current practice in the diagnosis and

PURPOSE STATEMENT
The 49th Annual SEPCS Conference will provide an
overview of current practice in the diagnosis and
treatment of congenital and acquired heart disease
in children and young adults. Discussions will include
interactive sessions with both individual speakers
and panels. The conference will offer learning
