Application For Endorsement For Tier 1

(Exceptional Talent)
This Is Not An Application For Leave In The UK
The purpose of this form is to apply for a Tier 1 (Exceptional Talent) endorsement,
which is a requirement in order to apply for entry clearance or leave to remain in
this category.
When considering this application we will decide only whether you qualify
for endorsement under the Tier 1 (Exceptional Talent) route. If you wish to be
granted entry clearance or leave to remain for any other reason please make an
appropriate application using the correct form.
Please note that if you are currently in the UK, making an application for
endorsement does not extend your permission to be in the UK in the same way
that making an application for leave would. You should not stay in the UK beyond
expiry of your leave.
You also need the separate guidance notes for this form. Please read them before
making your application. If you do not already have this item, you can download it
from our website at: www.gov.uk/tier-1-exceptional-talent
In accordance with paragraph 34 of the Immigration Rules, this form is specified
for applications for endorsements made on or after the 6 April 2016.
You cannot apply online or at a Premium Service Centre for a Tier 1 (Exceptional
Talent) endorsement. Please post or courier to:

INTRODUCTION
1. This document provides information to help you to complete the Tier 1 (Exceptional Talent)
application for endorsement form.
2. Applying for Tier 1 (Exceptional Talent) is a two stage process. Full details of the application process
and the requirements of the route can be found in the Tier 1 (Exceptional Talent) policy guidance notes
available on the Home Office website at https://www.gov.uk/tier-1-exceptional-talent Additionally the
relevant Immigration Rules can be found in Part 6A and are available on the Home Office website at
www.gov.uk/government/organisations/uk-visas-and-immigration.
3. The process of applying for Tier 1 (Exceptional Talent) has changed. Most applicants are not
required to submit a separate Designated Competent Body application form as the relevant questions
are included in this form. See sections 3 to 5.
THE FIRST STAGE: APPLICATION FOR ENDORSEMENT
4. IMPORTANT: If you are endorsed for Tier 1 (Exceptional Talent) this will not give you the right to
come to the UK or remain in the UK without another application for leave. The endorsement itself is not
a grant of leave.
How will we contact you about your application for endorsement?
5. We will use the email address you give us in the application for endorsement form to tell you whether
you have been endorsed.
6. You must send evidence with the forms, but you should send photocopies of your evidence. We will
not return copies of documents to you. We reserve the right to request original documents but these will
be returned to you by ordinary post.
HELP ON SECTION 1 - PAYMENT
7. You will not be charged a fee if you are a Croatian national applying under regulation 2(15) of the
Accession of Croatia (Immigration and Worker Authorisation) Regulations 2013 as Highly Skilled.
8. For everyone else the fee for an application for endorsement for Tier 1 (Exceptional Talent) is
287, made by post or courier. You must pay in UK pounds sterling. You may not apply in person
at the Premium Service Centre (PSC) of the Home Office.
9. If the payment submitted does not cover the full cost of your application for endorsement, it will be an
invalid application; and the form, together with any documentation submitted, will be returned to you.
10. The fee charged is for the processing and consideration of the application for endorsement. This fee
will be payable once the application for endorsement form is received by the Home Office or its payment
processing agent, regardless of the outcome of the application for endorsement.
11. We cannot begin the consideration process until the payment has cleared. We allow 5 working days
for payments made by cheque to clear, but credit/debit cards and postal orders will clear immediately.
How you can pay
12. You can pay by any of the following methods:
Cheque/Bankers Draft
Postal Order
Credit card - Mastercard, Visa (including Electron) or American Express (Amex)
Debit card - Delta, Maestro (including Solo) - we will only accept Maestro cards issued in the UK.
Please note that your application for endorsement will be rejected if you do not pay the specified
fee in full or if you pay by any method other than those specified above. You will be required to
make a fresh application for endorsement.

Please note that when making large or multiple payments using your credit card, the anti-fraud
measures that banks operate sometimes stop the full payment being taken. This can happen for a
number of reasons. To prevent this you may inform your bank of your intention to make large or multiple
payments in advance so that your bank allows the full payment to be taken when you submit your
application.
Please be aware that not all banks offer this service.
Cheques and postal orders
13. You must make the cheque or postal order payable to `Home Office' and cross the cheque or postal
order A/C Payee only. Please write the full name and date of birth of the applicant on the back of the
cheque and/or each postal order and keep the postal order receipts. Please make sure that the date and
the amount (words and figures) are correct and that the cheque is signed properly. Attach your cheque
or postal orders to the front of the application for endorsement form.
Completing the payment details
14. To ensure that your payment is processed without any delay, please follow this guidance when
completing Section 1 of this form (Payment Details).
A2-A3 If the address for correspondence is different from your home address, please give that address
at A2. If a solicitor or other authorised immigration adviser is submitting the application for endorsement,
it should be their address at A2 and their name at A3. These details will also be used to acknowledge
receipt of the application for endorsement.
A4 The email address will be used for urgent correspondence with you about your fee.
A5 Your date of birth
A7 -A9 If paying by cheque or bankers draft enter the bank account number, sort code and cheque
number.
Paying by credit/debit card
A10 Card number - this is the long number across the centre of the card.

application, and to communicate with you if necessary. It must be an email address that you will be able
to use for the next few months. It can be your representative's address if you choose to use
one.
17. It is your responsibility to provide the evidence to support any statements made in your application
for endorsement. You must ensure that all of the necessary supporting documentation is provided at the
time the application for endorsement is submitted. You must be selective in
submitting evidence, as sending large amounts of irrelevant or poor quality documentation may delay
consideration. It is only necessary to submit the evidence that you are asked for; unrelated evidence will
not be considered.

full translation that can be independently verified.

19. The Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC) regulates United Kingdom based
immigration advisers. As a requirement of Section 84 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999,
United Kingdom representatives, who offer advice and services in relation to an application, will need to
be regulated by the OISC unless they are authorised to practice by a designated legal professional body
or fall within a category of persons specified in an order made by The Secretary of State under
subsection 84(4) (d) of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999.
SECTION 5
