Significance of Research

A). In significance, there is a potential for improving nursing practice because

of the Obesity Prevention Campaign or Brochure that contains highly
intellectual information and interventions regarding in the prevention and
lowering the risk of developing obesity. Since it can be used in the hospital
setting the staffs, nurses and other members of the health team especially
the Pedia ward.
B). There is also a potential for improving nursing education in our Obesity
Prevention Campaign (OPC) or Brochure which is connected to the k to 12
health curriculum that aims to assist the Filipino learners in attaining,
sustaining and promoting life-long health and wellness. Because we can
disseminate the OPC in different schools to the teachers, students, and also
parents. In the health contents of the k to 12 basic education curriculum
there is nutrition, it addresses the importance of eating healthy and
establishing good eating habits especially for children and adolescent as a
way to enhance health and prevent disease.
C). There is also a potential contribution to respondents and\or research is
present because us nurses can help parents and children by providing
nutritional advice and, through weight management programs, offer
strategies for decreasing caloric intake such as health teachings and
increasing physical activity. We nurses should always take a whole family
approach because it is challenging for obese children to alter their dietary or
physical habits if not supported by their families
D). There is also a potential contribution to concerned agencies like public
schools in urban areas that our OPC may help the population by preventing
obesity. We are disseminating the OPC and we also need to teach the
teachers, parents and other to enlighten them about the benefits of
preventing obesity. Our OPC contains the necessary information in
preventing or lowering the chances of developing obesity because obesity in
already considered by the WHO a disease. We gathered different information
and interventions that is reliable if followed correctly.
